Their last ever performance as part of a huge festival ???………………that is not what I expected and I think it’s not appropriate. They should’ve thought of a better way to go out…………….a headline show in NYC would have been the only reasonable way for me. I don’t know this festival in NJ, neither do I know the festival site but I know for sure that this is all WRONG ! Forget about the big bucks, book a 5 – 6K venue in NY and do it there. That’s the way it should be…………………….just my two cents………………

The last show HAS to be in NYC……….anywhere else in the world would make no sense to me at all. It’s where it all started and that’s also where it should end, I think………full circle ! Is a final show at MSG realistic ? I have no clue if TS could pull that many people even in New York for their final bang. Could they ?

You’re probably right, there must be a reason why Joe is not the one…………..maybe we’ll get some info about it in the next couple of weeks/months…..

OK, the end of a wild ride with lots of ups and downs is in sight…………..we all knew this day would come (even though the reason for this is more than just sad) and we will have enough time to deal with this decision, made by the band, before the final curtain falls. I totally respect that and I hope I will get to see the guys at least one last time. I hope they will do a small farewell tour in the countries that always supported them and that meant much to them, I keep my fingers crossed….

Mike Portnoy is definitely a one of a kind drummer but I don’t understand why Joe Franco wasn’t asked back in the band. To me he would have been the more apropriate replacement to fill in for A.J. (who you cannot really replace, of course).

    Just my thoughts………….

I can’t remember where I read it just recently (I think it was some interview with Jay Jay) but it seems that one of those new releases is supposed to be the Donington ’83 concert. Since the show was fully broadcast back in the day I guess we will get a polished version of this radio brodcast.

As for the remaining shows to be released, I am really curious to see if we probably get something really new and unheard of. Don’t believe it, though…………but who knows what some one dug out ! I would fancy a full headline show from ’83 (L’Amour maybe) or even better, something from the COAP tour……but I know that’s illusional……..

That’s the well known radio broadcast from Detroits in’79. Quality suffers a bit at the very beginning but otherwise this is the best quality version I ever had. Definitely worthwhile getting it, especially since the CD is not so expensive (bought it for around $ 10)
