Would have loved to see them though. Do remember Grim Reaper. Sure saw Vain at the Cat Club. Davy Vain was a star, no doubt about it. I saw Grim Reaper with Helloween and Armored Saint at Sundance.

Location: Graveyard BLVD. | SMF, Germany - 2006-03-07 8:07 AM You all seem to forget one NYC-based band that has released one of the greatest records of all time: CITIES ! The class of their songs is still outstanding to me, even today (and this is not because AJ recorded with 'em). When I first heard their demo I was totally blown away and I was sure they would get massive one day....unfortuantely I was wrong. Anybody here who knows what happened to the members ? Apart from them, there is quite some aritsts around which, in my imagination, I saw playing the biggest arenas one day, but who, unfortunately, never made it to anything more than club-level (at least here in Europe) such as: Savatage, Warrior Soul, Alannah Myles, D.A.D. just to name a few. Instead we have 50 ct ruling the charts today - halleluja ! SMF, Germany I have the cassette and it does ROCK with our own AJ Pero on drums! I attached a scanned part of the cover. I would like to get it transferred to CD if I can. Have to ask my pal to do that for me yet. It will be well worth it. Some info here about it. http://vibrationsofdoom.com/test/Cities.html Ron Angell vocals Steeve Mironovich guitars Mayne bass A.J. Pero drums (see also Twisted Sister) No Life 'til Metal - CD Gallery - Cities http://www.nolifetilmetal.com/cities.htm New York City Heavy Metal! Cities - Annihilation Absolute (Metal Master Records) 1986/2004 Cities - Annihilation Absolute (Metal Blade) 1986 1. "Stop The Race" (4:02) 2. "Fight For Your Life" (3:29) 3. "Burn Forever" (3:45) 4. "Not Alone In The Dark" (3:35) 5. "Cruel Sea" (6:03) 6. "In The Still Of The Night" (4:50) 7. "Innocent Victim" (4:46) 8. "Shades Of Black" (3:41) 9. "Deceiver" (5:18) Having come from the East Coast, Cities are one of those bands I remember from back in the day that had a big buzz going around about them. They were certainly underground favorites even before putting out an album with their demo being widely circulated. Having Twisted Sister drummer AJ Pero as part of their band certainly helped the buzz as well. When I origially purchased their first album back in the late 80's, I believe it was originally only a six song EP. Eventually the album was picked up by Metal Blade, new songs were added and the album was re-released internationally. I believe the cover art was slightly modified from the original release to the Metal Blade release as well. "Annihlation Absolute" is an excellent heavy metal platter that borders the line between early speed metal and classic power metal. Pure testosterone injected, aggressive, East Coast, denim & leather, guitar blazin', heavy metal. It's a shame that this was the band's only release. It wpuld usually start at like 7 with an open bar til 9 and the band went on around 8pm. The record companies paid for the open bar to get writers and industry folk to see their baby bands. Saw tons of cool band sfor the first time like Alice in Chains, Extreme, White Trash, Shotgun Messiah,Vain,Pretty Boy Floyd and so much more.

SMF 1st Class Posts: 16 | Bajas - 2006-03-10 6:07 AM Does anyone have some recording of The Jakyls? TNT is my second favourite band beside TS. After Dee heard TNT's Knight Of The New Thunder, he came to Norway, and helped them with their album Tell No Tales, and with the mangement. Ronni are credited for arrangement on Love Is for Suckers. Here is a picture of Dee & TNT taken in Trondheim Bajas, Many years ago I had tried to get copies of some soundboard tapes that exist. I was told that the bass player, Brian, was the one who had them. Since I moved away from NY back in 1990, I've only kept in touch on an occasional basis with some friends who are mutually friends with some former members of The Jackyls. Raising families and such causes people to drift apart a bit from the single hell-raising days, so I have pretty much resigned myself to having memories without the recordings to live with. Maybe you could try writing to Rob Zombie's management, asking to be put in touch with John Tempesta and explaining your interest. Up front honesty is always the best way to go. Good luck!

Always loved the J.P. Project. Any of you guys ever hear them? Dude ! Your talking to the Aero lover of the free world. Followed them very close since Get your wings came out and have seen em, or part of em, on every tour since 1975. And actually just saw Joe on his solo mini tour about a year back. The JPP was, to be dead honest, hot and cold. Some shit really rocked and some shit was filler. In the beginning Joe had no clue how to manage and front a solo band and that what hurt him. He did a much better job with this new tour. Anything Aero you wanna know you come to the right place ;-)

Location: Graveyard BLVD. | OK..how about Temple Of The Dog~ this cd is awesome! And Chris Cornell is a man of many voices to say the least! I attached the cover.. Temple Of The Dog: History http://www.reachdown.com/history.shtml Band members: Jeff Ament Matt Cameron Chris Cornell Stone Gossard Mike McCready Eddie Vedder Temple of the Dog Background: Here is the story of the band, nice and short: Andy Wood died on March 19, 1990 of a drug overdose. He was roommates with Chris Cornell and in a band called Mother Love Bone with Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament. After Wood's death, Cornell wrote "Reach Down" and "Say Hello 2 Heaven." He played them for Gossard and Ament; the three agreed to get together to record some songs as a tribute to Wood. Matt Cameron, who was in Soundgarden with Cornell, came on as the drummer. Mike McCready joined because he was working with Gossard and Ament at the time. Eddie Vedder was later auditioned and asked to join the band. He only performs on a few of the songs. He shares the lead vocals on "Hunger Strike" and sings back up on 3 others. He is not listed on the album as one of the band members but is listed under the "additional" section which is on most albums. Temple of the Dog released its album on April 16, 1991. Soon after, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam started recording and Temple of the Dog broke-up. There are no plans for the band to get back together; it was a one time thing done in honor of their friend, Andy Wood. The name Temple of the Dog comes from the lyrics of the Mother Love Bone song "Man Of Golden Words." I've got the Vain record... not really impressed. I also have the first two Grim Reaper albums. See You in Hell is great, but Fear No Evil is pretty lackluster. I think I bought all of those albums for a combined total of $3 at a record store in NH. -MD

K9, Totally agree. I think by the time he got to the 3rd album all his best material was used up. lol And I am not the biggest Mach Bell fan either. Along with Once a rocker I liked Black Velvet pants and Bang a Gong the rest IMHO is FILLER. lmao

SMF 1st Class Posts: 20 Location: Canton, Michigan | TS Fan Forever - 2006-03-07 7:52 PM I remember the band Grim Reaper...........Oh man, they were a kick ass band back in the 80's. Rock You to Hell was a badass album, but Fear No Evil was better. Thats just my opinion. Anyone familiar with the song "Fear No Evil"? I was always wondering if the lyrics meant that they were in favor of using "white lightning" or against it. Anyone care to comment on that? I have an old issue of Hit Parader that has an ad for that on the back. Unfortunately that's the only exposure to the band that I have.
