Extreme SMF Posts: 132 | Great quality capture but is it just me who thinks that the crowd is pretty lame during the song ? Maybe people just didn't know or recognize the track ? It's very strange to see people just stand there and listen without moving, jumping or screaming.............is Motorhead so unknown is the States ????

Destroyer Posts: 545 | Welp...if I was there...and I wasn't...and I am a true hardcore SMF...I would have had NO CLUE what song it was. I would have been standing around twiddling my thumbs. Just my opinion here, so don't kill me...I hate Motorhead. Never could get past that awful voice of Lemmy's. Short story...when TS was just getting out of the clubs, and released Under The Blade, my friends and I were SHOCKED to hear the story of them recording "on hay bales in a barn with Motorhead"...none of us ever like them, and couldn't see why/how Twisted connected with them at all. So it wasn't just me...we all hated them.

With that said, I loved the cover. Twisted rocked it! And I was actually surprised at how many people in the audience were singing along with it because I didn't know it at all. I was wondering how I was the only one in the place that didn't know the song. LOL! The crowd definitely seemed to enjoy it from my perspective.

Extreme SMF Posts: 132 | OK, I see that Motorhead don't seem to be as popular in the US as I thought and I also have to admit that, if I hadn't read the title beforehand, it might have also taken me a while to recognize the song too - it's definitely no "Ace of spades", huh ? Still, if it hadn't been for Lemmy who knows where Twisted Sister's career had gone ? I think we all cannot thank Lemmy enough for what he did for the band. Personally I think that Lemmy is the father of TS's acknowledgement and success in the UK (Wrexham, Reading, Marquee) which led to their first record contract. Who knows in which direction the journey would have gone without Lemmy. So, just saying that you all hated Motorhead definitely doesn't do him any justice ! Destroyer Posts: 545 | I'm not knocking Lemmy at all, don't take it that way...I know EXACTLY what he did for the band, and the road would have been a much different one without his help on the way up. He was HUGE in that respect. That being said, it still didn't change how I/we felt about the music. Just not to our liking...that's all.

Road Reporter Posts: 1729 Location: Baltimore, MD | I LOVE LOVE LOVE Motorhead--my second favorite band! And it took me a few seconds to realize what they were playing. Patrick, American audiences just don't react the way the rest of the world does. what can I say? we are uptight as a culture. American audiences just don't react much. Takes them a long time to warm up to a band.
