SMF 1st Class Posts: 13 | Love ya JJ, but I have to politely disagree with you on this quote "I do not see any reason in the world to record." There are many fans that would LOVE a new album. Enough to make you sufficient money to put the time and energy in - I have no idea. I know the general argument you've used and accept that, but I have to disagree that there is "not any reason". I am one reason. That's not much, but I'm sure others would love it too.

Nearly A Band Member Posts: 446 | but i agree when he say that the fans don't want new song.. it depend which band, sometimes i don't like that much the new album. I saw Helloween last September and they played 6 song of their new album and only 5 song from the 80.... Twisted Sister have enough good song to do a different setlist without putting a new album out.

Extreme SMF Posts: 190 Location: Austria | Ahh, I'd say that depends on the songs. Obviously, when the new songs suck then I prefer to hear the old ones. But if they are of the same quality as the old ones then I obviously would like to see a couple of new ones thrown in. Of course, if the majority of the songs played are new songs, regardless of the quality, then there will be disappointment. But really, 2 or 3 new songs would kill no one... not even the casual fans, who only know and care about the hits. And the more so if the new songs are great. But then again, if they don't have any desire to write and record new songs, then what's the point? The band should want to do it.

Full-On SMF Posts: 96 | I would buy new music if they recorded it, but I understand Dee and JJ's reasoning. Recording new stuff is just kind of silly if it doesn't come from the heart. And if not from the heart, then what's the point? Judas Priest just released a new single, and it rocks! Van Halens' new album is nothing to scoff at(except for that one single, *shudders*) AC/DC's Black Ice was great. And the last four Iron Maiden albums are some of the best stuff they've done since the 80's. Black Sabbath's new album surprised the hell out of me, as did Anvils new CD. KISS' Psycho Circus, on the other hand, was utter shite, lol It's unfair to assume people would not buy it, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't sell in the millions like it used to. If they ever do write/record something new, I'll be the first in line!

Location: Rocking In The Florida Dark ! | The way I see it is it is such a different ball game then thirty or forty years ago, Today if you have the internet and you tube you can play anything you can think to type in , well almost , if you have a kick ass music system you can hook it up to that. This is probably why rock has died out as much as it has , where is the incentive and money anymore . yea Id buy cds and dvds here and there maybe also to play in the car since Florida radio is really sucky but to me its like a two edge sword I love you tube/ I hate you tube for what happened to the industry.
