As long as you are all fascinated by statistics here is another to contemplate:

Were Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock are the worlds biggest 80's anthems....by a wide margin.

While Poison and many other 80's bands outsold us in total record sales, we have the two most famous anthems. Especially in the US

These two songs have been licensed for more American TV shows, movies and commercials then all the other bands biggest hits combined.

Because these songs are so overwhelmingly famous, it alters the balance of perception when viewed in the larger picture.

So true..."We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions" is the only other song(s) that I can think of that is similarly close...but probably not even!

yes and doesn't twisted sister license the songs? if not them then doesn't atlantic keep shelling them out so that atlantic can make a buck? nothing like seeing what was an angry youth album in maxi pad and cough syrup commercials. led zeppelin has only licensed 1 song ever to be used in a commercial so i guess that means led zeppelin are not popular anymore?
