| To me - a big part of Twisted Sisters commercial downfall started with the totally wrong single choices for Come Out And Play-album.
It is not a bad album at all! Far from it, great songs! And a lot of them.
But "Be cruuul to your skool" and "the leader of the gay pack" as singles and big budget videos? I don't get it. I am bitter, because I feel that the commercial downfall also added tension and that tension broke the band up in 87 and denied us from a ton of great new Twisted Sister material.
How about the title track or Fire Still Burns? So much better choices, in my mind at least.
But how do you feel?

This portion of their VH-1 Behind the Music pretty much says it all.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA | This is a tough one because Come Out and Play is my 2nd favorite Twisted album. But "Leader of the Pack" was the WORST pick for a single. They should have picked either Come Out and Play, The Fire Still Burns, I Belive in Rock and Roll, Killed or be Killed, or one of my favorites, Out on the Streets. I think You Want What We Got was a single, even if some people hate this song, its a better single than Leader of the Pack. |

Location: Chicago | There was a number of things that led up to the downfall of the band at this time. The choice of singles off Come Out and Play was just the nail in the coffin. Leader of the Pack was a terrible choice obviously and the band even admits that looking back on it now. There are definitely some great songs on COAP but that wasn't one of them. "Be Crool to Your Scuel" was pretty cheesy as well. Probably the 2 worst songs on the album. "I Believe in You" would have been a great single. "Out on the Streets" or the title track might have been good ones as well.

| The single choices made on COAP were among the biggest mistakes of our career. We have said this many times |

Location: Dream Street | I actually doubt that any of the other songs on the album would've done much better. I think if Be Chrool to Your Scuel was the 1st single with an acceptable video maybe it woulda done a little better. I think this coulda been cool as a "fake" live video with all the musicians who recorded on the album. I imagine the main settings being a school's music class room and eventually by the 2nd half of the song they have morphed over into the auditorium performing in front of the whole school(a regional school or college so the stage and seating areas are huge)....and throughout the song occasionally some footage of Dee & Alice in other parts of the school but without the zombie's.
I have the album cover painted on my jacket so that pretty tells you what I think of it... however I also happen to believe that the production value hurt the potential success of the album. The snare drum bothers me the most followed by a certain effect mixed in the guitar's distortion.

| I agree with the OP but it happens sometimes. Im glad they are talking again and have been doing shows the last few years. i would love at least one final album from them. They are so good together and COAP should really get the respect it deserves... Good luck at the benefit show tonight JayJay and the guys. I will be there and cant wait for the great music and show.. |
