how do you know there's never going to be new stuff? WTF is the problem with that? fear of failure issues or some such shit? afraid it won't measure up to the classics? touring other countries to gigantic crowds playing the same old songs is very profitable and even satisfying I'm sure. but here in the USA we expect more in my opinion. they put out that Christmas album. that was....interesting I guess. is being a "grown up" so boring that there's nothing to rage about? nobody is angry anymore? then look around at the world-take a good look and write about what you see. a serious rock album. no make up. no twisted humor. something real.
I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT. WHY DON'T YOU WANT TO?

I'll see if I can find some youtube footage...both Jay Jay and Dee have spoken about this issue at the big festival press conferences. Both have said that most concert attendees (based on crowd reaction and demographics) want to hear the old favorites, and that new music often doesn't go over as big when played live-- there were countless jokes and onstage comments about "30" being the song when attendees would head to the bathroom or get another beer at the bar.,....and how few things made fans head for the exits like the words: "here's some new music for you...."

Personally, I would LOVE some new tunes--"30" was fantastic--but I also understand that new music is not likely to happen any time soon if ever, and full fledge touring the way it was in the 80's when tours sold albums is a thing of the past. Downloading killed albums... and tours.

I just don't see how they CANT or DONT WANT TO create something new when they are together. personally, I think it would drive me crazy to play those same songs. but they were split up for a long time. SIXX AM dont do concerts. they just get together and make music and it sells. IDK. whatever makes them happy. I just think it would be cool to hear something new and different.

ok I'm glad I watched the whole clip. Mendoza- European fans are so much more dedicated than American fans. (or whatever)
THAT'S BECAUSE WE WANT TO HEAR NEW MUSIC IN AMERICA!!! we all had fun in the 80s but it's over.
put it on I TUNES and people can download or not.

I wish we could get new music...but "30" became the bathroom song for the weekend fans who only came to hear the 2 songs they knew.

The truth hurts but Mark is 100% correct. There are two reasons why I like U.S. domestic shows: I get to see some of my friends here in the States...and it's cheap on the wallet. But I prefer shows outside the states because the energy is so much stronger.

Majority of U.S. fans do not hold a CANDLE...not the tiniest flame...compared to the passion of the fans in other countries.
Most U.S fans won't frickin' drive more than 100 miles to see the band (with a few exceptions--many of whom are on this very board), then they bitch about why TS won't come play in their backyard. Then when they DO....they find some lame-ass excuse why they couldn't go.

THEN....you get those who sit down during the fucking show....or stand with their arms folded....they don't sing....and act like douches towards other fans who are trying to enjoy the show....or talk on their cell phones while the band is playing....

COMPARED to the absolute passion of Euro fans--it doesn't matter if they baked in the sun all day....when a band comes onstage, those fans give it everything they've got! They sing, they yell, they respond with gusto. those fans go absolutely insane. Sweden Rocks. Graspop Metal Meeting. Incredible shows with incredible crowds. YouTube the crowd in Thessaloniki --those folks were OFF the hook!

Look at the South American fans--many of whom traveled by bus for hundreds of miles, spent their last dime to get there, and slept outside the club for 2 days to get the first spot in line. They didn't speak a word of English but could sing every single lyric and every note. Fans who were so thrilled, so exhilarated---I saw grown men with tears in their eyes.

Passion.

That's what it comes down to.

The typical U.S. rock fan does not have the passion. They talk only about the glory days of the 80's...about how great it was. The fans in other parts of the world revel in how great it IS, here and now. They know how to live the moment.

If Twisted got the reception that they get overseas, we'd see a lot more shows...and maybe new music too!

well I've never been out of the country. JJ did state that the promoters made concerts more affordable in Europe. even if a band comes right here to Roanoke, it has to be someone I really like to pay at least $50 to go. this economy has not been kind to us here so I cant afford a road trip at all right now. as far as crowd enthusiasm-the original 80s rockers are all getting older. I saw Alice Cooper at the WV State fair last summer and it's the only rock show I've been to where everybody was sitting down. even Alice sits in the wheelchair for awhile. but Alice puts out new music almost every year. I just think that as long as TS has been around, and as much as they have seen and done-there should be more music. stories of lessons learned, stories of life and death and love and heart ache. stories and songs that rip your heart out and then put it back in place. something more serious. don't get me wrong. I like the old sing- a- long songs and the fact that they get to dress for Halloween whenever they want to. I just wish there was something more. putting music online seems to be more cost effective and practical for bands these days.

I'm gonna regret asking, but what makes you think it was photo-shopped?

Well you can pin-point it especially from Animals forehead, beard and cheeks - looks sort of like a cartoon. It is very visible on Fingers and JJ also, but Animal calls the bluff on this one. Hands down.

But a great pic. And photoshop is the name of the game now-a-days.

This shit is getting old. JJ is one of the smartest musicians I have ever met, and I've worked with over a 1000, probably 2000. Would I LOVE to hear new TS music? Absolutely. Do I think that the band is better off not releasing a new record? Again Absolutely. The band protects their legacy this way and still allows them to play to tens of thousands of fans each and every time they play. Not to 300 people in Roanoke on a Friday night.

Look at Poison/Bret Michaels. Bret plays to tiny crowds with his solo band before and after Poison tours to 1/2 empty (on a good night) sheds all summer long. It seems like I don't have to go more than 3 or 4 months to get a Poison fix. His greed is killing his brand. JJ and the band avoid that and should be applauded.

Maybe we'll get the occasional single, I LOVE "30" , and if not oh well. Better no new music than to become a shell of their former selves.
