Hello again dear SMFs around the world.

Oooook, I know everybody knows....... but, considering the 1964 original Shangri Las Leader Of The Pack, what a wonderfull version is the 1985 Come Out And Play song, isn´t it???????? I mean, I´m an old rocker (I´m 39), I still have those LP, but of course I changed to cd long time ago. But my wife..... oh my wife, we are from Venezuela, as you can imagine, she doesn´t like metal music, but, in this moment, mi heart belong to Rock Music...... and Twisted Sister, so I´m encouraging my wife to "learn" or "understand" my music (therefore my life, after 12 years married). I thought Leader Of the Pack, wich is very melodic, could be a good start..... and It was¡¡¡¡¡ She likes Shangri La´s and then I put 1985 TS version and she loved it.

I don´t know why, but everybody says here that Come Out And Play was the beggining of the end of TS 80´s era, and Leader Of the Pack was the reason (besides Be Chrool to your scuel problems and, overall, how the album was produced) but I´m still loving it.....

Fountainfan, you sound like Vinny Cecolini now! The Journalist who said the music on "Come Out and Play" was "too schlocky and sugary".

As for me, something about the reverb on the snare drum bugs the hell out of me on that album.

I allways loved Leader of the pack by both, but Twisted Sister even more! TS has this unique way of taking a song and making it even better and while it was awesome at shows I like the Come out and Play CD alot. To me while I understand Jaysins feelings, I still think its one of the better recorded CD 's well -- Played on big systems. Another one that was really well recorded was the Rari Dee's, Which had all the kick ass frequencies pretty much right on -- That to me was a well produced cd, course I like Heavy serious bottom end and clean crisp bright high end and just clean mids. . The drums being a little over micked I found on the Astoria CD. which I found a problem playing load on a particular big system with out a bit of ajusting to compensate -- Great CD Though. . I dont know different systems are different and peoples tastes are different, but that is what I found.

Mark getting in on the producing of the Cd's seemed to help considerably from previous recording it seemed-- Well -- "IMO".

Well yes, I was writing about leader Of The Pack, but certainly Come out and Play has great songs. Perhaps "I believe in you" is one of the best "ballads" for me, although it seems that everybody prefers The Price, but is only me. Indeed, TS Leader Of The Pack is much better if you know Shangri Las´s. Maybe TS was flying too high (marqueting) in that era (over exposed ???????).

Oh, by the way, my wife can stand the complete album, not just one song, so I´m teaching how to listen to rock very well¡¡¡¡
