Hi Mac,

Tou may find the problem is not that you can't type, but rather that the writing in the PMs is actually white (on a white background). This means when when you do type something it is there but you just can't see it! Try typing something and then highlight the area where the writing should be to see if that's you're problem. I think we all have the same problem since the boards background colour changed from black to white. You certainly have to highlight the blank area in PMs received if you want to read them. The other way around it is to type in a different font colour.

There have been a couple of posts about this since the change but so far no fix. Hopefully Don will get to the bottom of it soon.

Me - I kind of liked the old version of the slamboard better- to me a little softer on the eyes- Course black is my fav color anyway. But I can live with it. just have to learn the tricks. That one caught a bunch of peeps me included.

I have been a ts fan since 1980. Seen them over maybe 200 times.Heres my problem! What the hell happened to poughkeepsie ny? Remember guys the chance theater. The same place that you use to play many times. The same place that bands like queensryche,Ted nugent,Brett Michaels,Motorhead still play. I know you want to make big money playing festivals in other countrys. No problem. Just stop in and play once or twice a year! These bands are just as big as you and still come back every year to play. One problem, they dont have the history here like you do.Lets see, WPDH,The good times cafe, Mid Hudson civic center.I might be wrong but last time here 2005. Not good, not good at all! Iguess you forgot all the smfs here? Tell me twisted didnt get too big headed to play the chance.I do know one thing, those other bands and many more I didnt mention still play for us.It really dosent say much for you guys! Sad Sad days for ts fans in poughkeepsie and the hudson valley.

Hey Bobcat....
you know, posts like yours really puts the cheese in my doodle.

Twisted Sister is all about doing charity work....the NYC concert this past weekend and auction raised a lot of money for charity....but that doesn't mean they should work for free because the fans in Hudson won't drive more than 10 miles to see them. If the Poughkeepsie fans are such SMFs...why didn't they take the train down to NYC for all of the shows that they've done there since The Chance? (a few of those weren't sold out--shame on us) I have yet to see TS play a show in New York on this reunion tour that received the responses comparable to what they get in foreign countries. Twisted has played NY more times than anywhere else since 2003- NYC, Long Island, Poughkeepsie, plus all the tri-state area shows--- doesn't say much for the Poughkeepsie fans either if they won't leave their burrough to see their favorite band.

Where you in NYC for the charity benefit this past weekend? I was. So were about 30 people I know just from this Slamboard--from Connecticut, Massachusetts, various parts of NY,Maryland, Illinois, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Quebec, the UK, even some fans from Brazil were there. Those are the SMFs. TS played their first show ever in Buenos Aires--were those fans bitter that they never stopped in their country before? Hell, no. They were as passionate, loyal and grateful as I've ever seen.

And you have the audacity to complain that Twisted Sister, who is getting to headline some of the biggest heavy metal festivals in the world, won't play your small dive in Poughkeepsie again? Very few cities had a return gig on their reunion tour, other than Vegas and NYC. Reminds me of a guy that used to be on this board--he cried and cried, post and post, about poor little Poughkeepsie--and when TS finally played there on the reunion tour, he didn't even show his sorry ass up. Pathetic.

No more loyalty for you? Fine, but don't call yourself an SMF. The real friends of Twisted Sister know that the band does more for their fans than any other band out there.

I like to start off by saying Im still a big ts fan.I also said i think its great theyre playing the festivals.I have no problem with that.Heres whats wrong. The bands like queensryche/motorhead/anthrax/megadeath/which these last two are on a major tour now and brett michaels whose reality tv show was the biggest show on vh1 and band poison can outdraw twisted in the u.s. all come back every year and play THE CHANCE! These acts have no history there at all! Twisted first played there in 1980. Wpdh the radio station played under the blade all the time when nobody heard of them.Twisted was the first band to sellout the mid hudson civic center in poughkeepsie without a contract.Dee snider played the chance everyyear with his smfs until twisted got back to together. Then ts plays there from 2001 till 2005 or 2006.Dee comes to the area for his march of dimes which i think is great! Then twisted starts playing all these festivals and one show in ny everyyear and thats it! No more CHANCE in i think 5years Too Long boys!Remember us smfs up here.Either you forgot us or you dont think its profitable to play here anymore? I really dont know the answer. Maybe somebody who knows the band could ask them? Heck you guys dont even play starland ballroom anymore which draws huge acts! Come back bad boys of rock and roll.

Bobcat, I would LOVE to see them play The Chance--I always prefer small clubs any day over the big ones--I personally hate going to those festivals and sitting through band after band. Maybe we'll all get lucky and they will add a few smaller gigs--who knows? even Poughkeepsie. They played the Starland in February 2009 and I don't recall if it sold out or not--but I cannot imagine that it is cost effective to play small clubs over big festivals. I don't ask them about finances and paychecks (that's a bit personal--none of my business)

I cannot speak for the band--but I have had an opportunity to speak TO the band on many occasions. They do truly and sincerely appreciate all of their loyal fans who have supported them over the years. My understanding, based on what I've heard them say, is that it is just not possible to tour today the way bands once toured in the 80's. Not only do they have families but lots of other diverse projects as well. The road is brutal--the bands aren't indestructible 20-somethings anymore.

Last summer, Twisted only played two shows in the U.S.--both festivals--both had dismal attendance. Compare to that the shows in South American, UK, Sweden--many sold out, and attracted tens of thousands of fans and those fans were absolutely rabidly insane for TS.
This tour is a gift--each show is special. Rather than lament that they aren't playing your town, consider making the trek to NYC....or Boston...or Philly...or NJ...when they play there instead. I promise you won't be disappointed.
