Band Posts: 130 | The Armoury Records/Eagle rock releases are all remastered from the master tapes. they are the best versions that have ever been released by far. Under the Blade is a remastered version of the secret records UTB. the vast majority of TS fans only like that one, not the US version.

Full-On SMF Posts: 75 Location: UK | Well. I've just taken delivery of the three albums and all I can say is that while they sound fantastic (obviously from a higher source as they seem clearer if nothing else), the downside is they've been "re-mastered" in the typical modern way, ie, the faders seem to have been whacked up full so it sounds loud and punchy. Unfortunately my ears ache after listening to an entire album. I know people have an issue with the Spitfire records releases, but at least there is some difference in sound levels within the same song. Take "Come Out and Play" for instance. On the Spitfire Records version, when the songs kicks in properly with Dee screaming "..of the niiiight...", the word "night" is in two halfs of different volumes, the second half louder than the first: niii-iight. On the new release there is no noticable volume increase, and looking at the wav file, it's almost, but not quite, a solid line peaking at 0db for most of the track. NOT impressed. Full-On SMF Posts: 75 Location: UK | Further to my previous message. Don't let my comments put you off from buying these, especially at the cheap price they are. They DO sound fantastic. I'm hearing instruments I've never heard before, and the bass is rich and clearer than ever. So are Dee's vocals. My complaint about ear-ache was through listening through my Grado phones, not through my loudspeakers which, let's face it, that's really the only way to listen to Sister!

Band Posts: 130 | W ell I cant take credit for a reissue that I had nothing to do with. The official Secret remasters are not out yet and it will be a double disc with a DVD of the Reading Festival. I really know nothing about what you bought. What label is it on? It is on Eagle Rock so if you have a copy that is not Eagle Rock with the DVD then I don't know what you have

Extreme SMF Posts: 190 Location: Austria | And where do the Demolition records Special 30th Anniversary Releases of YCSRNR, UTB and LIFS come in? I'm asking because they have the same bonus songs than the Armoury ones... is it the same, but a different label for a different territory or are they different?

Nearly A Band Member Posts: 406 | Received my copy on Saturday - have only had chance to listen to the cd - it's in car - full blast. Thanks TS and the record company for re-issuing, re-mastering my initial aural introduction to TS. Namely Ruff Cuts and the orig UTB.
