I'm not really sure. He's a band guy so he's used to roughing it. But probably $100 a night or so.

I cannot vouch for either place--he may have to do some research.
I looked at the dormitory one but these days, I need my beauty sleep. a LOT of beauty sleep. A LOT. (have you SEEN what I look like?)

But here are two hostels right on Times Square:

320 Times Square Hostel
320 West 49th Street
NY 10019
(212) 315-2080

Jazz on Times Square Hostel
341 West 51 Street
New York, NY 10019

That really does look pretty cool! Thanks Jaysin!

I'm getting lazy in my old age I guess.... I just don't feel like hailing a cab or hopping underground I like to stay close to where the show is. And one of my favorite delis is right around the corner.
(I also like The POD on 51st street--off season I could get a room for $89....but I saw that their current rates for Spring are equal to the other budget hotels around, so I'm going for one that's closer and has a private bath and two beds.

Thanks Jaysin! He went with the Jane. Not a bad deal and he can be comfortable in a great area.

Be sure to tell him to go to EO (Employees Only) on Hudson/Christopher(one of the hottest West Village bars ...you can tell him to talk to KC at the door and say "Lobster suggested he visits and will see him soon"...that's cause I (Lobster) will be going there when I visit for the Twisted Show, and of course the MPD(Meat Packing District) is loaded with bars and clubs. I hope he has a good experience! Let me know how it works out for him.

You're funny dude!

Let's see, ok, the story behind that is my gift at an office Christmas Party was a Lobster. Some of us went to that Employees Only bar afterwards since it is right down the block from the office. When I left the bar I forgot to take the 2.5lber with me. So the next day I went back to EO and I asked if they found it. They said they did! I asked if I could have it. They go, "Sure!" So the dude goes to the back. In a few minutes he returns only to serve me the special of the day, a Lobster Casserole.
