Greetz, SMFs,

I had a phone conversation with Jay Jay this morning regarding the compilation of the Complete Live Schedule Of Twisted Sister, starting from Day One to present. As you can imagine, this is turning into a huge project, and while Jay Jay is a master archivist there are some gaps that need to be filled...

So here's the info that Jay Jay is looking for:

1. Any information on TS club dates occurring between January and May of 1980.

2. In June, 1984, Twisted Sister performed 6 dates in Europe with Metallica, and there were another 6 incidental dates during this run. They occurred between June 11 and June 18, 1984.

3. All tour dates occurring between February 15 and April 30, 1986.

Jay Jay has asked that if you have accurate information about any of these dates (as he put it, 'The real deal - not My brother heard that a friend of his saw them at The Hatter when he was drunk one night'), please email Jay Jay with the information at rebellion@att.net. All verifiable dates will be added to the Master List, and I'm sure Jay Jay will write back a nice note thanking you for helping him fill in the blanks.

Thank you for your participation, and stay sick.

- D

PS: Fun fact - Since Twisted Sister has reunited, they have performed a total of 101 dates as either Twisted Sister or Bent Brother. Cool, eh?

Thanks Webbie Don--
101 shows eh? so THAT explains why my VISA bill is so damn high!!
The last show I saw before the plethora of reunion dates was January 22, 1986, Capital Centre in Largo, MD. It was my second published review, incidentally.. The first one was an album review of "Come Out and Play" I did for the Baltimore Sun (I was 15!) and the second was a concert review of the aforementioned show, published in FACES! They gave me a free one year's subscription and a free t-shirt. I was a cheap date even then....

Can't wait to read the full history!! this is a great project!

Would one of the "6 incidental dates between June 11th and 18th, 1984" happen to be the Bangor, ME. show? The show was at the Bangor Auditorium and it was right around that time frame. Fun fact: Prior to the reunion shows, it was the only time (that I'm aware of) that they played "Horror-teria". They dedicated it to Steven King since they were in his hometown. If this is one of the shows in question, let me know and I'll start digging to see if I can find the confirmed exact date. For some reason, the 18th actually sticks in my head but I can't confirm that definitively without a bit of research. I do know that they had just returned from some shows in Europe because I remember Dee talking about it during the show. It may have actually been the first show back in the US upon returning from Europe, actually, if my memory is correct.

I did find this little snippet with a quick search. Good thing the boys came back to Portland in October to put on another great show for the Maine-iacs. LOL!

The Bangor Journal
March 16, 2002
City Council holding Auditorium hostage
“The current climate in the city is that of anti-youth, with the City Council paying more attention to appealing to middle-aged residents than teen-agers and young adults. When an upstart promoter wanted to rent the Auditorium for an all-night rave last fall, the City Council upheld Dyer's decision to reject the event and then enacted an ordinance that prohibits events at Bass Park from lasting beyond 1 a.m. The City Council, of course, left the door open for making exceptions, but it is no secret an exception would be made first for, say, a ballroom dance marathon for charity or another trans-Atlantic balloon race.

The Council's rationale was that all-night raves would attract drug users. But the Council has said nothing about drug use at concerts featuring washed-up rock stars that attract adults of an age similar to its members.

After Twisted Sister performed at the Auditorium in 1984, the city said the band would never play at the Auditorium again because of the band's vulgar language.

So without a venue that can hold 7,000 in seats and another thousand on the floor, a new auditorium will never stand a chance of attracting a big-name act who might otherwise skip Portland's Cumberland County Civic Center or split its Maine performance into two shows, one in Portland and another in Bangor.

Is it any wonder why young adults move away from the Queen City after high school or college? The city does little to encourage entertainment for them.”

Did you mean the Rock Palace ? I grew up on Stagnet Island and there was no Palace Theater. The sad fact of the Matter is in th eearly days it was getting your hand stamped and no real tickets.... Otherwise I would have everyone. lol

All tour dates occurring between February 15 and April 30, 1986.

The closest Ticket stub I could find was Feb. 1, 1986 In Lacrosse, Wisconsin. That would be about 2 weeks earlier than needed. SORRY, that would be the best I could do.

All the stubs i have, are accounted for i guess, since they fall outside the dates given. I'm close, within a month or so, but not during those times. Wish i could have helped!

I hope during all of this writing, the theft of Dee's jacket is mentioned! I remember that being a HUGE deal back then.
