Yes, the 1999 "remaster" version of YCSRNR is really mastered from vinyl. One listen with the headphones was all I needed to notice the the vinyl pop sounds. Also notice the longer gap between I'll Take You Alive and You're Not Alone. On the original there really wasn't a gap at all. Also, Jay Jay admitted on the Slamboard that the YCSRNR "remaster" CD was mastered from Japanese vinyl. Well, vinyl is vinyl no matter where it comes from and no CD should be mastered from that medium.

I know that TS didn't have access to the original master tapes and they wanted to re-release the albums on CD, even if they had to master them from vinyl. But that's really no excuse. I think that's a slap on the old-time fans' face. If really the Demolition 2006 versions from the UK are better, then that's fine but I'm sticking to the original CD's with just one exception: Love Is or Suckers (which is remastered from the original tapes or DAT).
