The version that is included on "The Video Years" DVD is basically the version that was played on MTV. It doesn't include Dee's rants. There was a VHS version that had the complete show including rants that has never been released for sale on DVD. That version was made available briefly as a free DVD with the purchase of the 25th anniversary of "Stay Hungry". It's been a while since I've watched them so I could be wrong here but I believe there is additional interview footage in the uncensored version as well. I'm not positive about that part, though. I have both. Maybe it's time to pull them out and watch them again.
Got it now...................I didn't know that MTV broadcast this show back in the day (and I don't have "The Video Years" DVD either) but if they did, they definitely censored it - no way that the uncensored version was aired in the US ;-). The DVD is exactly the same as the VHS video that was sold in 1984. It has all the additional footage about the pre-show riot and also the interview footage. Thanks for your explanation ! |
