Location: Chicago | I can only guess on this but I suspect that Dee said he preferred "You Can't Stop Rock and Roll" because the memories of recording that album were more positive. All of the guys in the band have stated that YCSRNR is their favorite album that they did over the years during interviews. It sounds like that was a time when the guys in the band were an unstoppable force and had not gotten on each others nerves yet (to put it in a nice way).
As a fan, I would absolutely say YCSRNR is their best album and it's not even close for me. That's just my personal opinion. My reason is because I feel that is the only album that they've recorded that even comes close to capturing what Twisted Sister really sounds like. I love UTB, but the production and recordings on UTB are not even close to the power of those same songs performed live. The same can be said about Stay Hungry. Those songs are all infinitely better live than they are on the album. I hate the production of Stay Hungry personally. Too thin and pop sounding. I hated We're Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock on that album. But both songs are fantastic live. And even though they have their great moments, the other 2 albums aren't even in the conversation when compared to the first 3. Therefore YCSRNR wins. LOL! Again, that's just my personal opinion. |
