just playing devil's advocate here, Nancyde... if we look historically at this reunion tour, they did play some great NYC shows including the Christmas shows--plus the ones in Poughkeepsie and several on Long Island--which is pretty awesome given that they play 10-15 shows a year. the fact that many of them have been in New York is a real bonus. That said, we see 7 shows up now on the website: Mexico, New Jersey, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Oklahoma and an island that I still can't find on the map. Last year, they only played 10 shows total. If memory serves me correctly-- Brazil, Chile, Sweden (twice), Belgium, Texas, Wisconsin, France...was M3 last year? That would make 9... and a benefit show on L.I. Only the L.I. benefit show was a club--the rest were large arenas and festivals.

TS has announced there are three more coming--that gives us 10. I truly don't know where they'll play those three shows, but if you look at the pattern--only 1 of those 7 shows is in a club. (Starland) The rest are all huge festivals. The likelihood of a NY show just seems like it would be unlikely compared to the possibility of them playing a festival here in the states or abroad in another country. I totally understand if folks aren't in a position to travel outside their country (it's difficult, sometimes a little scary and expensive) and I even understand when folks can't take a flight across many states. But c'mon-- NY has one of the BEST transit systems in the U.S.-- it is totally possible to get to New Jersey from NY--and I don't think it would be too difficult to get to the club by some local means or maybe even a fellow S.M.F. here.

The whole reason why I began writing the Armadillo Road Reports was to share the concert experience with TS fans everywhere, and encourage more fans who share our passion to come to the live shows to experience it for themselves. (Especially those who missed out on the club days--this may be one of their few chances!) I would hate for you to miss out on the fun of a reunion concert experience, waiting for a Manhattan show (that might possibly never happen) when there will be a show just an hour or so away. Although I confess--it WOULD be so cool to see them play Madison Square Garden!

(and for the record: I have never been to Jay Jay's apartment as I'm convinced he's moved his archives into a hollowed out mountain somewhere in the New Mexican desert.)
