Location: Dream Street | This poses the question. Would certain people here not be a fan if they didn't wear outfits/costumes/make up in the 1st place??? Would it make a blind person less of a fan because they can't see the visual?
This isn't parallel to a theatrical play where if you remove the costumes the actors would be out of character. Or would it?
Watch 2 of their concerts. 1 while they are decked out in makeup and 1 without. Then close your eyes and simply listen. There's absolutely no difference.
And here's another hypothetical question. Would anyone prefer a 20 song concert without their classic outfits or 15 songs with?
I get it that there is a visual spectacle and, especially for those who haven't seen TS live in that light, there is an element that is missing from a live show. And that's part of the performance and showmanship. Dee has stated that if you just wanted to listen to the music you can sit home and do so. Going to a show means seeing a show and not just hearing music. So I totally get it.
Maybe I'm jaded because I've seen it many times and now I'm at the point where I'm just thrilled that they actually take the stage in 2013. I may have already seen my last show. But if seeing them again means seeing them without makeup then hell yeah, I'll take it in a heartbeat and love it all the same.
