Location: Baltimore, MD | I'll see if I can find some youtube footage...both Jay Jay and Dee have spoken about this issue at the big festival press conferences. Both have said that most concert attendees (based on crowd reaction and demographics) want to hear the old favorites, and that new music often doesn't go over as big when played live-- there were countless jokes and onstage comments about "30" being the song when attendees would head to the bathroom or get another beer at the bar.,....and how few things made fans head for the exits like the words: "here's some new music for you...."
Personally, I would LOVE some new tunes--"30" was fantastic--but I also understand that new music is not likely to happen any time soon if ever, and full fledge touring the way it was in the 80's when tours sold albums is a thing of the past. Downloading killed albums... and tours. |
