Hey All!!

Well....I have already made my thoughts known on the book...it is a great read...As for the CD....I think its fun and it totally rocks....with one exception...

For all the doubters, you have to look at this from an Van Helsings Curse "viewpoint"...a one-off shot at something completely different. Look at it from just a metalhead perspective and you ain't gonna like it...Also remember that Dee is not the first rocker to tread down the Broadway path. Both Paul Stanley and Sebastian Bach have long runs in Phantom of the Opera...so the concept aint new. And if you read the sleeve notes, this was originally set to be a joint venture with Alice Cooper!! Imagine how that would have turned out!!

As for the CD, all the tracks have a rocker 'edge". Sweeney Todd could almost be played in any metal club it is so heavy, so very Van Helsing/Horror-teria/Burn in Hell.... Other tracks have some "familiar" riffs and drumbeats which made me grin from ear to ear. Very tongue in cheek!! Mack the Knife has you going "Huh?' like to two old rocker guys in the video...then somebody hits the first power chord...No doubts where your heading after that...

The one "stunner" track is "Music of the Night" from Phantom of the opera. If anybody had any doubts about Dee's singing abilities....take a listen to this. ..jaw dropping....Actually wished Dee kept his rocker "edge" away from the track and sung it like the opening bars....simply stunning...blows all other versions into the weeds.

And if "Nothing like a Dame" does not have you laughing your nuts off, you need to get a life!! (Imagine Dee and cohorts in a video dressed in sailor uniforms dancing around with mops on a ships deck singing...a 'la Morcambe and Wise for those of you who are familiar with the show...it will be on Youtube. Remember this is a guy who likes to dress up!!)

There is only one track I "cringe" at when it plays. Dee's part is fine. But the female vocal on "Lola" has me reaching for the volume button. Sorry Bebe...I think its awful...dont know how it got out of the studio....waaaay too much "warble" But thats only my 2c...(and you can still sing better than me darlin'. )

For me, its a great CD. No different from Van Helsing, nor trying out Rock of Ages, or Gone Country (which was 'attacked' by Dee in a similar manner when you think about it) or making Strangeland. Its another string to the bow...pushing the boundaries as a vocalist, as an entertainer. Remember people...you can always watch/listen to something else...This is about reinventing yourself...a well learned Dee life lesson....(read the book..)

Now..I'm gonna say something here which may put a smile on your face!!....( or I could get shot down for...but I will say it anyway )...I have a theory on where this could all lead...if Dee gets more recognition as an actor/entertainer, as a "draw" for the general public and not just from the metal community, some smart enterprising Hollywood exec might just stump up the cash for Strangeland 2....wouldn't that be something??

Its May 27th. Twisted Sister are about to hit Europe June 2nd. I am very, very envious....but at least we get the Armadillo road report!! Over to you Terry!!

Remember to thank a veteran this Memorial Day weekend....

Peace out people....
