| Sooo......I just finished the book....
Kinda lost for words...recognized many similar circumstances, similar mistakes, similar (unbelievable) letdowns, similar assholes...but also similar friends, similar opportunities, similar unbelievable acts of kindness/strokes of luck. Sat here going..."Wow....."
Got a lot out of it. Enjoyed reading it, got way more than just being a TS fan reading about their history. The message is fairly clear....dont give up, be aware, get educated about the situations you face, read the fine print.....twice!! Never...EVER...let the bastards grind you down.....but dont be an asshole doing it!! Especially to those closest to you. Dont be afraid to explore, re-invent yourself....(Already there Dee....)
I have shared my "fears" about the book and its possible repercussions. I note that, on the final page, Dee thanks a few people, including Jay Jay, Mark, Eddie and AJ. I took that as an acknowledgement, a "nod" in the right direction. There were mistakes on all fronts. We are at where we are at. We are who we are. Whats done is done. If anything gets said, it will be said in private. I dont think there will be fallouts, just a recognition of the situation and its value. Nobody's perfect...least of all Dee.
I always hoped Dee would write an adults version of his Teenage Survival Guide. This is part of it. Cannot wait for part two.
Just My 2c.
