I was walking into work today are Chicago’s O’Hare airport. As I was coming down the escalator of terminal 1, who do I see stepping out of the ticketing line after picking up his boarding pass? None other than our own Dee Snider! Imagine my surprise! I had forgotten that he was in town for a couple of book signings this weekend.

This is actually the 3rd time that I have met Dee but the first time that I actually had the balls to walk up to him and actual speak like an adult to him. I was borderline mute the first 2 times. LOL! I walked right up to him and said, “Hey Dee! How are you doing? I’m a big fan.” And as always, Dee was gracious and thanked me for the compliment when I told him I was enjoying the new CD. One of the things that always sets the guys in Twisted Sister apart is that they take time out for their fans. They always find time to say hello and they seem to genuinely appreciate the fans. I could tell Dee was busy and focused on business but he still stopped and took time out to talk to me for a minute. I made it quick and just expressed my thoughts about the new CD and how much I was looking forward to reading his book and he thanked me for the support. Great guy.

I just thought I would share this story as that brief moment made my whole day great. It’s the simple things in life that make a difference and Dee taking a minute out of his busy schedule may have been a very small thing in his day but those are the things that make him so cool.

Thanks for taking the time Dee!
