I got an email this evening---One of our SMF slamboarder family here saw Dee in the airport today on his way to a book signing-- he made sure to tell Dee how much he enjoyed the new Broadway album.
We are S.M.F.s We bleed pink & black.
That would be me. Dee was gracious, as always, and thanked me for the compliment and seemed genuinely pleased that one of his fans appreciated his efforts. There are a lot of guys that would rather not give some random guy walking up to them in an airport the time of day but not Dee. He stopped and shook my hand and accepted my greeting openly and made time to say hello and talk to me for a minute. Let’s see your precious Axl Rose do that. I think not.
I will also go on record with a little advice to everyone here. (At least it’s just my opinion for what it’s worth so take it or leave it. I won’t be offended either way.) When someone like this comes along and starts posting comments that are clearly disrespectful and intended to stir up trouble, my advice is to ignore them completely. Don’t respond to their post. Don’t stoop to their level. Don’t get into a useless debate with them because you’re never going to win. When you dignify their ignorance with a response, all you do is feed them and keep them coming back for more. You give them credibility where they had none to begin with. If you simply ignore them, they will eventually go away because there is no fun in it for them if they aren’t getting a rise out of everyone. Even better, go into another thread and respond to one of those and push the idiot threads to the bottom where most people won’t even notice them.
So do as you wish. If you feel the need to respond, then follow your heart. But just understand that you are feeding into their delusions. I recommend simply ignoring them completely because they will eventually go away if you do. I almost never respond to Bobcat’s rants and the only reason I’m doing it now is to back up and add validity to Armadillo’s comments. (We SMF’s have to stick together! LOL!) Mission accomplished and I am done responding to this thread. As a matter of fact, I’m going to go and respond to a few other legitimate threads and push this one down the list a bit.
And for the record, I’m digging Dee’s new CD. It’s not for everyone and that’s cool. It’s not a Twisted Sister CD and I didn’t expect it to be one. But I’m enjoying the creativity that it took to record these songs and some of it flat out rocks. Way to go Dee!
