Okay then--it's a Twisted Sister lovefest! :-) my favorite kind!

And you are one of my favorite Bent Brothers, so it's all good.

I didn't mean to give the impression that I want approval from others-- the whole reason that Twisted Sister appealed to me as a teenager was the fact that they were all about standing up for yourself, not caring what others thought about you, freedom of expression and being true to oneself....I was a rebellious teen, and that father screaming in WNGTI was definitely MY DAD!

I'm the video generation, so YCSRNR got me hooked (I wanted to see more--I kept seeing/hearing that quick clip that was the MTV promo for a while) and when I saw WNGTI, there was no turning back. I was obsessed--who were these guys? how could they know what I was feeling? How could they know so clearly what I was going through? Could it be possible I wasn't the only kid going through it? Twisted Sister saved many of us. I hate to sound like it was a religious experience, but in many ways, for me, it was.

And I did what so many SMFs of my generation did--I ran out and bought every TS album and single I could find---listened side to side and back again. And like many of the front row crowd, I found that my favorites were all from the early days--I love YCSRNR and UTB--Ruff Cuts holds a special place in my heart. When TS re-released all those oldies on Club Daze and then Still Hungry, I was in 7th Sister heaven! (It's embarrassing to admit this, but if I didn't hear I Wanna Rock and WNGTI at a show, I wouldn't be upset at all....give me the B sides, baby!

I don't know if it's mellowing with age, but these days, I'm a lot less about being in your face like I used to be...and I'm much more about "hey, come find out what this is all about!"

I'm proud to be an SMF, and I'm proud to call all of you my Twisted family.
The band and crew definitely know how much I adore them .... I think they think I'm insane :-) they might be right.

I don't have any kids....and I'm not wealthy....and for those of you who ask, I pay my own way on my travels....
my best friend in the fire service is dying young from brain cancer. His dying wish is to visit Maine--he has plenty of money, and could have gone anywhere in the world...and now it may be too late. I don't want to die with regrets--I'm living life to the fullest these days--a lesson I've learned from my friend Bill. If I'm left without a penny but I can have the experiences of a lifetime, then it's all worth it.

ps I loved Savatage--saw them play a small club in Maryland during the Rage & War Tour. Loved the music, but really hated the lead singer after I saw them live. He was very drunk onstage, and was pretty obnoxious towards a lot of the fans, esp. the ladies, who had come to see them. I lost a lot of respect for them after that--still love the albums, but I don't know if I would make an effort to see them live again. (I often listen to Gutter Ballet when I travel to shows!)
