| It's clear now that music industry is eventually dissapearing. Albums make almost no profit, so, who would invest his $$$ if there are no benefits? Only the biggest bands keep releasing records, not only to promote tours but to make some cash of the CDs as the recording process is not as expensive nowadays than some years ago with all the digital recording and mixing. But it's true that CDs do not sell as they used to do in the 80s-90s. For example, the latest KISS CD (Sonic Boom) was the 2nd top selling album in the US after the first week of release but it has not achieved even gold status!
Abyway, long time fans of bands like Twisted Sister or KISS or AC/DC want to hear their long time hits at live shows, so there's no real need for veteran bands to keep releasing new music. | |
