THank you for posting that Jay Jay.
"30" was a perfect example--what a fantastic song and a great video. Yet when the band played it live, it didn't get the warm reception that it deserved by the entire crowd. I think most just wax nostalgic and want to hear the radio favorites because they know the words, and aren't open to the new songs, which is really a damn shame. 30 is such a good song.

I think some of the fans here have to fully realize that the demand for Twisted Sister in the U.S. is not even close to other parts of the globe. In the States, we have many different opportunities to see live music and let's face it---while the fans here in the US may share the passion for TS--they don't demonstrate it by turning out for shows. Some won't travel or just can't for financial reasons.

In contrast, the incredible display of love, dedication and passion shown in South America, Greece and Finland were absolutely nothing short of phenomenal. I met people in Brazil who traveled for miles and miles; some saved up for months to buy a ticket. (the tickets were VERY expensive there, even by US standards). I met fans who slept outside the hotel, on the street, just to wish the band well when they left. One fan told me that he had been eating only one small meal a day, to save up enough to buy a ticket and bus ride to the show. The place sold out--and could have probably sold out 2 nights or more.

You have fans like Marty--who traveled from Scotland....Mark from Austrailia....Patrick...who is up to 6 or 7 Countires now....DCT (Donna from CT) who has been to shows in the thousands....Cyndi who traveled to Italy and England....and many, many more. If more fans turned up for shows in the US, we'd have a better chance of seeing them booked here. The demand overseas is greater because those promoters know that the clubs will sell out.

Sometimes....the fans here have a funny way of showing appreciation. Kind of like screaming for TS to play in their town...and then when they do...post less than flattering things about the performance. Yeah. You won't see that from the European, South America or Russian fans.

Okay. nuff from me. Now that the ol' fingers are warmed up, I've got a glowing road report to write....

Keep rockin' Jay Jay--I'll see you in Europe....and maybe...OOOoooooh....South America again? I would SO love to go back there!
