| No actually. Nothing surprises me about how record labels go about maximizing their catalogs anymore. The various labels and territories tend to act as they wish within the limits of the deals we make. I will say though that in general, Razor and Tie (US), Eagle Rock/Armoury(US & oversees), Demolition (UK, Japan) and Drakkar (Germany) Have all tried to make all Twisted Sister product as fan-friendly, cost effective and high value as possible. I never knew about the vinyl version of Still Hungry until a fan showed me a copy last year in Holland. This came out on Drakkar during the final months of their deal with us. It was their investment and I loved the way it came out.
It will be interesting to see what happens to our whole catalog when all of our licensing deals end in 2017. Will any of these labels still be around? What will the retail music landscape look like then? Will it be almost all streaming? I'll bet that, no matter what happens, vinyl will still be around. it really is the coolest medium of all! | |
