Well, that really DOES take the biscuit.
So, as a loyal TS fan who buys product as soon as it comes out, I'm getting penalised in favour of the (can we even call them fans???) people who don't buy straight away!??
Yo, whoever lead you to believe that is how a fan is determined is very mistaken. Go back and slap them.
I don't think anyone here who knows me personally, and there are quite a few, would dispute that I'm a hardcore fan. Maybe if I was a kid I woulda jumped on buying these the day of. But nowadays time flies, and when I heard that there would be a few releases this year I thought it would make me feel like a kid again if I were to open them under the tree like I did with the COAP record. I had to hide my purchase of the cassette from my parents all year. Plus, I never know what to ask for for Xmas so this is perfect. Maybe if the material was completely new songs I woulda bought them right away, but it's not. We've heard most of these tunes a million times.
I can compare it this way too. I'm just not the type of person who has the impulse to see my favorite horror icon movie the day it comes out. I can't stand crowded theaters so I will wait till it's been out for a while and then see like an early Wednesday showing. I'll ask the ticket teller how many seats are in the theatre and what percentage is sold before determining whether or not I'll go in. And if I never make it in...big friggin deal, I'll see it on DVD when it comes out.
If I had the money I'd be traveling the world right along with Terry seeing Twisted every chance I could get. But I don't have the funds or the scheduling flexibility to do that.
I feel for ya tho, Pootle50, and your anger is somewhat justified but you're being judgmental and that's where this gets cloudy. If EVERYONE who was gonna buy these albums bought them when they first came out would you be less upset? |
