TS Fan Forever - 2006-05-31 1:22 PM

I have been a TS fan over 20 years now. Back in the day I'd sneak into a bar (Detroit) in Portchester NY. My cousin knew the owner back then, so i was able to get in and see TS when they played there. I always knew they would hit it big one day. Fast forward to 1983...TS hits it big and I couldn't have been happier. I saw them during the Stay Hungry tour a few times in the tri-state area. Heck, I even saw them a few times during the COAP tour. The last time I saw them live was in 1986 at radio City Music Hall during COAP and I'll always remember Dee starting off the show by coming out of the manhole.

When the band split up in 1987 (last show was Minneapolis, MN) I was so depressed because I thought that was it, I'll never get to see my favorite band again. So over the years I grew up and TS kind of faded into memory for me. I'd still listen to their music to try to recapture my youth but it just wasn't the same.

Fast forward to 2001 when the band decided to reunite, I was living in Florida so I had no idea they were back together. I moved back to NY in 2003, and found out they were reunited, and boy was I the happiest person alive. I searched high and low for tickets to any show in 2004 and was able to see them in Poughkeepsie for the 1st time in 18 years. You can only imagine how that felt. I got to relive my youth all over again through TS. Since 2004, I've been very fortunate to see TS live about 6 or 7 times, including last weekend in Charlotte NC.

So when Dee says it's over, its probably very true. But one thing that I'll say is that I know that I will live in peace the rest of my life knowing I got to see my rock idols during my adult life, something I never thought I'd see. When its finally over, I'll always remember the inspiration TS gave me. I'll always remember livng by the bands music and lyrics.

When that day comes that TS is no more, all of us here will always be proud of them. We'll always remember them. And most of all, TS will live in our lives and hearts forever. We say it now and forever.......TS, thank you for all you've done for us, the fans!

Nice Story, beatifully put. When I discovered TS I thought they were still broken up, but when I was in the school library one day I decided to check out TS.com To my surprise there were tour dates. And a bigger surprise is that one was near me! I had to pay for the tickets myself, but NOTHING was going to stop me from seeing TS. To this day that is still the best night of my life.
