(From the thread over on the Slamboard)

The biggest problem is that any reality show is going to be edited in such a way in order to have things that might be controversial or edgy enough to draw viewers pushed to the forefront. I imagine that each episode probably has hours of footage and they cut it down to the 20+ minutes we see in each 30 minute time slot.

Personally, I liked it, and that is saying something as I hate reality tv and don't watch it. Ever. The only reason I checked this one out was because it is Dee and his family and I am going to support them. It was cool to see Dee in his home and a more relaxed, natural enviroment. His interactions with his family were cool and helps to remind me that Dee is a married guy with kids just like me, and not just a metal god.

The song Jesse wrote for his daughter was cool, but that line "the sins of the father won't be the sins of the son" had to really hit Dee pretty hard. Sure he put on a brave face for the cameras, but I image hearing that had to cut him fairly deep. Jesse obviously holds some resentment for Dee being on the road. I sure hope he doesn't have to face the tough decisions that Dee did in order to provide for his family. Or maybe he should so he can appreciate and understand what Dee sacrificed for him.
