I met Erik from the band "MYSTICAL CHILDREN" on Saturday during the Breast Cancer Awareness day on Long Island. What a nice guy. We spoke a while about TS and his experience with the boyzzz back in the day @ L'Amours. Heard a few unique stories indeed. He gave me is promo cd and I really thought it ROCKED, so I am going to share this info with you SMF's here in this forum. I'll see Erik again this Sunday at the March Of Dimes Bikers For Babies event.

You can listen to the songs right here in MP3 format if you'd like.

Here is a little about the band.

What happens when you raise your kids with a little bit of ALICE, a dash of OZZY and the non-stop fret play of VAN HALEN? In the particular case of these "kids" you get a heavy-metal rock band with real style, lots of substance and some of the most original musical tunes to be heard live on-stage in a long time!

MYSTICAL CHILDREN mix it up taking significant pieces of yesterday and spinning them into the future.

Fasten your seatbelts, their feet can't quite reach the brakes yet!

MYSTICAL CHILDREN played their first shows in 1983 frequenting rock clubs like Zappa's (Marine Park, Brooklyn), Lamour (Brooklyn, N.Y.), My Fathers Place (Long Island), and The Fairway Club (Staten Island, N.Y.). They performed until 1986 when the band went on "hiatus" for fourteen years exploring life.
In 1999, Erik (lead vocals/guitar) the original founder of the group, (now a regular working guy from Brooklyn with a passion for boats, fishing and classic VW's) found he had a lot of friends who were still in the music business and decided to get the band together once more.

He pulled Jeff (drums) onboard first. An electronic technician by day, Jeff is a hard hitting rock-n-roll drummer with good endurance.... perfect for the band's hard driving timekeeper.

"Tex" (bass) came in from the west.. West Patterson, New Jersey that is!
Tex had been a good friend of Jeff's for many years and was searching for something constructive to do with his spare time. From the first time they played together they knew that Tex was going to be a perfect fit for the newly revived band.

Omar (lead-guitar) had originally joined the band in 1999 during which time he and Erik penned the immortal "Pain In The Ass". Omar, a musical prodigy, loves complicity to stimulate his never ending talent. Omar needed to take some time away from the band in 2000 for personal reasons. In early 2002 Omar finally returned to rejoin the band.

After a few quick rehersals the band began rocking the stages of major NYC clubs in a five month whirlwind that was appropriately dubbed "The Omar's Back Tour".

That's just the beginning.
