I had a '71 Mach 1 Fastback with whatever the next size up was from the original 302 (358 I think). Two of the old man's dobes chewed through the dashboard and the gas tank was dropping from the rot by the time I sold it, but damn, did I ever love that car. Racing through the tollbooths on Wantaugh Parkway... Driving naked down the Meadowbrook at 4 in the morning... Driving home from Cheers with one eye closed so there would be a single lane...
LMAO....NAKED??? hahahahaha OMG....unreal! Thank god you are still alive after all that! lol..mine had alot of rust too that is why I sold it. I did not have the money at the time to restore it and had just started college. It was not a reliable transport in the end. The fenders were really bad with rot. Your stories are great. But again, glad you are alive to tell that story! I miss mine too, loved that car. I felt like I was "QUEEN" of the road. And gas was like...ummmm...$.79 cents a gal? arggg....those were the days! |
