I ended up taking nearly 300 pics of the Silverton show, and I picked about 50 of the best ones and posted them
The band sounded great
(Dee is all the way back, don't doubt it
), the crowd was insane, and I met up with a great bunch of SMFs from all over the country.
I'll write more about the show
(including the full set list
) tomorrow. I'm freakin' exhausted and I'm going to sleep, because it's nearly 3:30 AM here in Vegas.
glad I made this trip.
Here's the set list, courtesy of Joe Rock:
What You Don't Know
The Kids Are Back
Can't Stop Rock N'Roll
The Fire Still Burns
Shoot 'Em Down
We're Not Gonna Take It
Burn In Hell
AJ Drum Solo
I Wanna Rock
Come Out And Play
Under The Blade
I very nearly didn't get to take any pics at all - because I was nearly tossed from the venue by the head of security!
As the show was starting, I got up in the photo pit and got ready to take shots. This big guy came over and told me to get behind the barricade, that no one was allowed to be in the pit. I walked around and was taking pics from behind the barricade, when we noticed a guy in the pit taking pictures! I went around to the security guy who told me I couldn't be in the pit and asked why this other guy was able to take pics and again showed him my pass and asked to get in to take pics. The guy told me 'If you don't get behind that barricade, I'm throwing you out of the building.'
While this was happening, Joe Rock went over to Danny Stanton and told him what was going on. Danny came over to the security guy, pointed at my pass, told the guy I worked for the band and that he was to leave me alone so I could take pictures for the web site.
That's the first story. I'll write about the swimming pool in the middle of the crowd later - or one of the other SMFs at the show will.
