The Ronkonkoma Post Office has put together an event to promote the Breast Cancer Awareness Stamp. In the past, this community has responded well to our events, and we wanted to show our appreciation by offering something back to the community by generating funds for Breast Cancer Research. This non-denominational stamp is valid as postage at the current .39 first class rate. However, it is sold for .45 cents, with the net proceeds being donated to, two government agencies conducting Breast Cancer Research: one of which is the medical research program of the Dept. of the Defense and the other is the National Institute of Health. A sheet of these stamps is $9.00 and $1.20 goes to research.
We are excited to announce that Rock and Roll Star Dee Snider from Twisted Sister, Jill Nicolini, the WB11 Chopper girl and Joe Cioffi, WB 11 Weatherman will be signing autographs for anyone who purchases a sheet of Breast Cancer Awareness Stamps. Stop by the Ronkonkoma Post Office at 200 Hawkins Ave, on Saturday May 13, 2005 from 10am-12pm, to make your purchase of this worthy stamp.
This special event will provide our community with a great opportunity to make a contribution to help fund Breast Cancer Research and help fund the fight for the cure!

What a day! The sun was shining by late morning, and Dee was a great sport and in wonderful spirits, posing for peep's and signing away! The atmosphere was so positive for this event.  I had a great time seeing my dear SMF family and meeting some new friends. It never ceases to amaze me the goodness in peep's.
Thank you Dee Snider for always rising to the occasion. Your heart has always been in the right place. You'll always be my hero and shine!
