Pup ,

One of my favorite bands since 75. My fav era is everything up to Rocks. Draw the line was good but the beginning of the end and Night in the ruts lol, the title speaks for itself. The solo period was hot and cold a few good songs. The reunited beginning had some sparks but once the brought in writers, Desmond Child GO HOME, their music took on a fluffiness. lmao They should go back to sticking Steve and Joe in a room and see what comes out. Thats my two pennies. Fav song is Dram On since the first time I heard it and You see me crying which they never played live. But it was a helluva lot of fun watching Joe swing his guitar at Steves head every now and then or watching Steve fall about the stage. I loved and laughed so hard when Dee, at the Starland last time, told the audience how Steve use to fuck up the words and just sort of bumble along. lmfao SO TRUE!

Listen to it all especially the early stuff, Aerosmith - Get your wings - Toys - Rocks, PRICESLESS!

If you like Aero check out two other bands from that period, STARZ and Angel.

Yeah, and take their fucking ProTools away. Just write 'em and record 'em, guys.

They were such a rockin' band in the day. Now with all the cutting and pasting going on in their records, you can't tell who's playing what any more.

At my band's rehearsal a few months ago, my drummer brought up the rumor that the Aerosmith album project was off, and there was trouble in the band. My first answer was 'What, did ProTools break?'

Great recording tool, although the potential for abuse is always there.

Toys and Rocks are my two favorite Aero albums. Draw the Line was ok, same with Night In the Ruts.
IMO their next great album after Rocks was Get a Grip, then Nine Lives and JPP. Honkin' On Bobo was ok. Their 80's stuff, for the most part, doesn't really excite me as much as 70s and 90/00s Aerosmith.
My favorite classic Aerosmith song is "Rats In The Cellar" with "No Nore, No More" and "Sick As A Dog" as close seconds.
Overall "Just Push Play" is my favorite.

Webbie ,

How the HELL could I forget that damn protools shit. lol Like you said and as the name suggests it's a TOOL used correctly it can be an aid, ABUSE it and - Pinches nose! But man when they were on top of their game, 76 tour, they left the rest in the dust. Live bootleg, which most diehards hate, I happen to like alot. lol Accuratley depicts the era and I get belly laughs thinking of Joe trying to hit Steven in the head with his guitar. (Giants Stadium show sticks out the most)

Pup ,

Just making sure your well rounded. lol

Mayor ,

Great friggin song! Thats my only regret not seeing them last week at PNC. I figured Tom's out and the setlist has been the same shit for the last several tours I'd miss it and they played Season's. Oh well I heard it plenty in the day.

^ Hell yeah I'm well rounded. Aerosmith was the second band I ever got into (KISS was the first). I have all of their studio albums.

BTW I've lost touch a little with KISS, I now think Aerosmith kicks their ass.

I can see kids getting into Ki$$ first. lol I liked them when they first came out. Thought them a novelty type act. I actually found both Aero's first album and Ki$$'s in the 99 cent bin of the local record store. Aero didn't take off until after Toy's was released and even Dream On stalled on the charts, I think they tried putting that 45 out twice, until Toys made it big then Dream On followed. Ki$$ was on it's last leg until Alive came out. Only to find out how many years later Ki$$ alive is a copy paste and edit job. BAH - Leaves a bad taste in your mouth. But you gotta hand it to Ki$$, as much as I bash em, they are sales men and lasted this long. The most talented one in that band for me was Ace. I have a copy of a 76 show I was at from Rooservelt Stadium and lol all I can say is the weed must have been real good back then because the show wasn't all that hot. lmfao My favorite song by them was Black Diamond and I still put it on time from time for a listen. My guess is Aero will hang it up either this tour or maybe one more. If you never saw em live catch em atleast once. Steves voice ain't what it use to be and some shows the, BACK UP BAND LOL, rest of the guys seem a bit bored because they really don't like the new shit being played but all in all it's a decent show and sometimes great show by todays standards.

^ My favorite Kiss song is "Detroit Rock City", and I still listen to them from time to time. I acually saw both KISS and Aerosmith a few years ago when they toured together. I liked them both but KISS' staged show was awesome.

I caught that show at PNC. Tommy Thayer was playing ACE and I forget who was on drums. Maybe it was only the particular night I saw them but Pauls voice wasn't what it use to be. The stage show is what draws the fans which is fine because they are there to be entertained one way or the other. lol But you strip KI$$ down to bare bones put em on a naked stage sans the makeup the costumes etc etc and you probably have cover bands out there that would sound better. lmao Just my opinion. Not to many bands in that genre can pull off an alter ego like Bent Brother and still pack in the minions. Again just my opinion.

Glad you caught Aero and they were pretty good the night I saw them and from most road reports I read.

I was at Hershey Pennsylvania when I saw them. From what I remember Paul was pretty good. Eric Singer was on drums. Aerosmith was good too, they ended the show with one of my favorite songs, Toys In The Attic, which was pretty awesome.

IMO KISS is a good band, musiclly, but not quite as good as say Aerosmith or AC/DC. KISS has some really kick ass songs and some song that make me cringe on each album, where Aerosmith and AC/DC don't. (As you can tell I compare KISS with Aerosmith and AC/DC alot. lol)

I hear ya. Like I said one persons favorite band may be another persons worst band. lol All opinion but makes interesting conversation. A few misconceptions about Aero I always hated 1, THEY ARE A NEW YORK BASED BAND, IN MY MIND ANYWAY LOL, Tyler grew up right near Jones beach Kramer was from the Bronx ect ect why they say they're a Boston based band just because that's where they llived when they made it big is beyond me because, as the songs says, they caught their big break in a bar in Manhattan. 2, The original BAD BAYS FROM BOSTON were a band called The J. Giels band, check out BLOW YOUR FACE OUT, but yet somehow Aero took it over. lol Personally I like the Toxic Twins moniker much better and it fits. 3, When they use to refer to Tyler as the poor mans Mick Jagger. lmfao Aero never duped the Stones but I guess it made good press because Tyler looked so much like Jagger in the day. Aero should have put out a live album around 76. That would be one of the best live albums ever.

Shame Bon never lived to see the success he helped create and judging from the last live album I looked at that AC/DC released the bulk of the set list is Bon era songs. Although all 3 bands started around the same time, 73ish if I remember correctly, AC/DC didn't catch on until a few years after Aero and Kiss. I remember waiting for the Imports to come in then once If you want Live made a big dent then Back in Black blew them outta the water but by then Bon was gone. The 3 came up the ranks and probably get compared alot especially Aero and KI$$. They even put out mags comparing the two. I have em somewhere. lol

I forgot to mention KI$$. Another big bone I have to pick with them. Thanks to Sir Rock and Roll pointing this out to me. Paul took Marc Bolan's (T. Rex) stage persona practically move for move and never gave the dude recognition. Now, Diamond Dave ripped off Jim Dandy's (Black Oak Arkansas) stage persona but atleast admitted it. lol Everyone has people that influenced them but atleast give credit where its due.

lol Actually in the day Gene was my favorite because I'm into the horror genre and Gene was it. They make many people happy, even if they're emptying their pockets at the same time, so who's to judge. lol I don't like either of them anymore to be perfectly honest.
