How actually Twisted Sister got their name and what does it stands for, what it means? I mean, is there some story like Black Sabbath named by a cheap 60's horror movie??? p.s. I laughed at this but, when i bought some music (CD's) here in a shop in my town, i saw a porn on a DVD called: Twisted Sisters !!! LOOOOL....I just laughed ))

That's more or less correct. If you want to hear it straight from the horses mouth, click on the link below. http://www.momoshare.com/audio/view.php?play=e7bbd5c3836b0ea7fba805d9a01a3529

Nearly A Band Member Posts: 1321 Location: on a Twisted planet | Wait, this audio with Dee Snider can't be true......He's talking about it like he was there when Twisted Sister got their name, but how could that be possible, when they founded TS around '72 or '73 and Dee joined the band 3 years later ??? Un-Beleveable

I heard Dee's quote, it didn't make sense (since, according to http://www.twistedsister.com/sistory-1.html , Dee was not in the band when the name was chosen), but Altini's version makes much more sense. Although I never saw the Good Rats play, I understand that they had a song that had the lyrics "Twisted Mothers, Twisted Brothers, Twisted Sisters". Perhaps the drunk original singer was listening to a Good Rats tape... Edited by Pungent 2006-09-12 9:45 PM

There is a lot more to the story, but I'll leave it for the real historian (the Faj) to spell it out.
