Vegas: I'm in!

This will be my first TS show in 2 years. That's a lot of pent-up rocking I've got to get out.

I'm geographically lucky this time, as Vegas is a quick 4-hour drive from where I'm currently sitting (LA). Here's my Saturday:

5:30am: Guzzle coffee.
5:45am: Hit the road! iPod set to "Twisted Mix" in case the coffee doesn't work.
10:00am: Arrive Vegas; beg hotel for early check-in.
10:01am: Nap.
12:30pm: Drive as far from The Strip as possible for lunch.
2:00pm: Ride Sahara's "Speed" roller coaster (short but devastating linear-induction launched coaster).
2:30pm: AVOID ALL GAMBLING (because I'm bad at it).
3:00pm: 2nd Nap (need lots of energy for later).
5:00pm: Get Ready To Rock.
5:30pm: Pre-rocking dinner.
7:30pm: To Hard Rock.
8:00pm: Doors!
9:00pm: *TS*!!!
11:00pm: Crash from pure exhaustion.
...
6:00am: More coffee, drive home before labor day traffic explodes.

Yes, I'm excited. See you all there.

Dave,

So happy to hear that you are finally getting to see TS one more time. I made the same 4 hour drive on Monday from Toronto to Detroit, though I only got see the last 20 min of the show! Wish I was there in Vegas. Have a blast!

Hi All!

It's T-minus 4 hours 21 minutes until Twisted brings down Vegas. I just had the pleasure of meeting Canadian SMF Cindee (totally randomly in the Hard Rock parking lot). What a nice chick!

I also poked my head into "The Joint," and I can tell you this is an awesome venue.

If all goes as planned, I'll give some kind of quick report before hitting the sack tonight. Tomorrow night at the latest.

Luatikko, Cyndi and Corey - great to hear from you! And Twistedbear, nice to meet you. Thanks all for the well-wishes.

Oh, hey, did you all know you can rent that movie I wrote and directed, DEEPWATER (complete with Dee Snider cameo), in the US now? I should post a full post about that sometime when I've got more time. But anyway, it's on the new release shelves just about everywhere, Blockbuster, Netflix, and most of the smaller places too. Check it out!!!

They RAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWKKKKED!!!!!!

Too exhausted to write much now. I met even MORE cool folks from the forum here before the show.

All around fantastic night. I'm sure my fellow SMFs will write more about it soon, as I probably will too.

Hi Dave,

Fantastic that you got to a TS show after a 2 year wait. Good to see that you enjoyed, but then again how could you not.

Just checked out amazon uk, no sign of Deepwater on DVD there yet. Any idea when it will get a UK release.

All the best Richard UK SMF

And I promise to be quick this time!!

First - awesome to see all the SMfs that were able to make it!  Dave, it was an honor meeting you and I wish you loads of continued success in your career...you deserve it! Looking forward to seeing 'Deepwater' and looking very forward to your new project!

Great spending some time with MP, KLO and Canadian SMF Cindee. Hope to see you all again sometime soon.  Armadillo, if you are reading this, I thought of you and missed you a lot.  And CGs and J...what happened??? Missed you too, Joe Rock!

Anyway, less that 24 hours in Vegas, which was ok with me and my wallet (!), only really needed to be there for the 90 minutes of rock and roll bliss provided by the Boyz!

Highlights for me - Burn in Hell, Shoot 'em Down, COAP, and of course, It's Only Rock 'N Roll.  Like MP says, the Boyz own that song.  And Jay Jay was every bit owning the lead breaks in that song in a big way that night!  SA-WEET!!!!  And the BIH crawl rules!!

Special treat was seeing my Girlz from "Jaded", Britt and Hillary...I'm telling you people, keep an eye and ear out for these ladies...they truly will kick your ass! Thanks also to Danny Stanton for being the gentleman that he is...

Believe it or not, that's it for now...

D

Thanks to all for letting me live vicariously through your reviews.

Donna, J and I missed being there.  Wish we could have.  I'll try the short version: First tickets were available and we couldn't commit.  Then when we started looking into packages, and the tickets went off-line.  Then tickets went back on-line but not only were packages not affordable but we still weren't sure we could make it.  Remember how I told you about that little problem we've been having at our apartment?  It's no better.  So we were in the process of looking for a new apartment.  I was hoping there might be some great last minute deal to Vegas but it wasn't to be and then we found an apartment and had to get everything rolling while the weekend happened.  We're looking into getting to PA or hoping another show pops on the radar.

So now, except for the move towards the end of the month, the schedule is a little more clear and I'm hoping to see the Boyz and everyone else again soon!  Incidentally, I'm sure a few people here will get a kick out of the fact that I'm moving back to Staten Island.

We really did miss everyone.  Thanks for thinking of us!

Best,
CG
