Location: Baltimore, MD | Just released on the Twisted Sister facebook page. A new Twisted date to be announced in mid-December...and here's the teaser: they said it's someplace Twisted has NEVER played before!!!
So what do ya think SMFs?
I swear on my pink fuzzy socks that I do not know.... so I'm gonna play along too! Here's my guesses: I'm going to guess it's either: New Zealand, Melbourne-Australia or Dubai.

You have whole concert there on youtube from NZ :D
hmmm.. i wish it was Croatia, Serbia, or Slovenia, ... i think they played Austria since they reunited. |

That's true, they played Australia and NZ in March 1985......
My guess would be that it's gonna be a really weird place like Beijing or Israel or maybe some country in South America where they haven't been yet. It will be too far to reach, that's what I'm VERY sure about............ |

They would never play Antarctica cuz they would burn the place down, and melting the world's ice cap would have global ramifications, so I think that one's safely out. (seriously? Metallica played Antarctica?!! Who went? A couple of polar bears and a penguin?)
Patrick: aww, you're just saying Austria because you're Austrian...don't tell me you're tired of traveling? :-)
now I've ALWAYS wanted to go to China...THAT would be way cool, too!
Well, looks like we'll have to just a week and watch the board. anyone else have some guesses? |

Nope. Not since their reunion (unless I have a bad case of Alzheimers).
They would never play Antarctica cuz they would burn the place down, and melting the world's ice cap would have global ramifications, so I think that one's safely out. (seriously? Metallica played Antarctica?!! Who went? A couple of polar bears and a penguin?)
They are playing there in December... 14th or so, I think. People attending the show get headphones to hear the sound as to not disturb the penguins... there are no polar bears down there.

Ah, considering that I, most likely, still would have to travel, should they play in Austria, as most likely it would be in Vienna and I'm at the other end of the country, that reasoning would be moot. It's just that I think that after 10 years and 18 shows it would be nice to finally see them at home (even if that "home" is 6 hours away).
now I've ALWAYS wanted to go to China...THAT would be way cool, too!

Oh yes... Hong Kong (or Bejing or Shanghai)... that would be nice. Would finally give me a perfect excuse to go there. ;-)

Oh, yes! back to Twisted. Well, I'll stick with Dubai--there is actually a heavy metal festival there coming up. China would just rock my world--although the travel there is crazy long!
I will say that I prefer shows that AREN'T in my backyard--I've had 3 shows in Maryland. The best one was their Christmas show in Baltimore--what I enjoyed the most was meeting some friends at a diner after--but there's something about sleeping in my own bed after the show that I found kind of a bummer. I never in a million years thought I'd ever say this (as one who was terrified to travel) but I love the whole process now of travel. The packing....the journey...arrival at the destination...settling into a new hotel room...exploring a new town/city....finding a gem of a place to eat... It builds the excitement and anticipation. After the shows, once the adrenalin wears off, I get a little depressed, and something about traveling home is cathartic. That, and I now find that a little bit of chocolate helps. (learned that one from Dee!)

Location: Austria | Terry, yeah I get what you're saying. I enjoy that too. I love travelling and surreal moments like seeing TS for 1 and a half hours and then taking a night stroll at red square in Moscow afterwards are priceless. But the idea to kinda seeing them at home, after so many times abroad or just being able to sit in your car and drive home afterwards is tempting too.

Oh I could go for some Swiss chocolate too. Funtazia can attest to the fact: I eat my way across a city--we had the good fortune to go through Chinatown on our way to the hotel in Boston--oh how I do love Dim Sum! He was a good sport about it, I just had to make a few pitstops for dumplings and pineapple buns [... I must have eaten 4 meals a day in Greece. :-0]

I'd sure love it if they played Dubai. I remember reading somewhere that Dubai was hosting a heavy metal festival and it's someplace I don't think they've played, but I haven't any idea if I'm right or way off. We'll just have to wait another week or so to find out the answer! (kinda exciting, isn't it?) |

Last summer gave us some great shows all over the globe--including some fun shows in the States in Texas, New Jersey and Wisconsin--so let's see where the wind blows us this year--one thing's for sure, it's gonna ROCK! |

I'm just kidding with you Patrick! You know that I fully appreciate how challenging it is to go to shows in other countries--especially long road trip like the ones you've taken! And you've certainly hit the road almost every single year--I think your country ticker easily rivals mine. It really is amazing to be able to say that your short "commutes" all involved crossing the borders in other countries. I'm ecstatic to see Austria--a country that has long been on my list of places I've always wanted to visit--and how sweet it is that this will be the first time Twisted Sister has ever played there! |
