Indeed - have the happiest of birthdays Dave.   Are you thinking of doing Sweden in December?

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I'm always very impressed that MML remembers all our birthdays and starts these birthday threads. As many of you know I often lurk here in background - always reading but rarely having anything interesting to add - so I'm always grateful when people take the time and effort to send me kind wishes.

Marty - I'm probably not thinking of Sweden this December - venue seems a little way out and not sure about the remote transport and my wheelchair - had it been a major city I may have been more tempted. I remember going to Gottenburg a few days after Hard Rock Hell to see Twisted there - planning on sleeping at the airport - only to find it no more the a shed. The bus/train station also shut overnight and we had to walk (wheel!) around in snow and -10 degrees (I know that's normal for you in Scotland!!). I was lucky enough to catch Twisted at Hellfest & Graspop this year. Hellfest being my 30th live Twisted gig ever(inc Metal Hammer awards) - Graspop was my 30th 'reunion' gig (all in the 30th anniversary year of me following Twisted - since I AM I'm Me in 1983). I am however missing seeing a Twisted Sister indoor headline set - been a few years now. Also missing seeing Twisted in the UK - about time someone brought them over!!
Are you thinking of going to Sweden?

Hi Dave,

Just emailed you as you posted here!!  Yes I got my ticket and flight today (finally found a good use for all those Shell points and Airmiles). Still to negotiate days off work, but that's a minor issue.  Gonna fly in on Friday and get accommodation somewhere near airport and hire a car. Also thought about airport accommodation and sleeping in car - wouldn't be the first time - but reckon Sweden in December would probably be a bit chilly, even for a Scot!

Flying back home again on Sunday ..................... counting the days already!

hey Dave....you've got those mag tread tires for mud....do they make any kind of contraption like skis or snow skids? Or maybe snow chains for the wheels so you can take the off indoors. if they don't....we should patent it!
sorry you can't be there--sorry I didn't get a lot of time to hang out at Graspop!
cheers
T.
