All currently sport their real hair.

Jay Jay was wearing a wig onstage for a number of the shows, but had you attended the last run of shows? you'd have noticed that he was not sporting a wig, it was his own hair. I don't care if he wears a wig or not--it has no effect on his guitar solos.

A.J. was balding so he shaved his head completely in 2011--I thought it looked quite good. Never seen him put on a wig--he drums so hard a wig would never stay on anyway.

Mark and Dee's--both real. nuff said.

Eddie's: he has great genes. Don't know his lineage, don't know if he colors it, don't care. he has great hair.

I've seen them onstage, offstage, en route to the stage...they have hair. I suppose next we're going to debate if their facial hair is real?

Twisted Sister puts on the best heavy metal show live because they rock, not because of their hair.

Well, Terry....since you mentioned facial hair....

Animal....c'mon...that's drawn in right? I mean, I know he has the goatee, but it looks like he 'enhances' it a bit for shows too.

Like you said, it doesn't matter cause they Rock......just sayin

Look at AJs hair during a bunch of concerts during the reunion. Like Wacken - you cannot go totally bald from that Wacken afro to now.

Eddie was asked in one interview that do they all have their own hair. He laughed and tried to avoid the issue, and lastly did not want to comment on it. Dee and Mark have gone on the record to comment that their hair is real - and it looks that way too. The other three, jugde by yourself - I have my own thoughts. And it does not take away anything from the music.

But it is like this, there are still a ton of KISS fans that will not admit that Gene and Paul wear wigs on stage.

I don't get this discussion topic???????? HAir??? WTF

Lets talk Bad hair..

Kevin Dubrow RIP
Don Dokken
Paul Stanley

I don't see whats wrong with adding some hair if so desired. It must be tough on a guy especially a person in the entertainement business to loose hair.

Look At John Travolta!!!! That thing is spray painted on!

I happen to have a large crop of hair on my dome, and I'm glad I have it.

So be kind to someone that has lost theres!!

AJ going bad too fast seems odd to you? Actually..it's not. AJ has been balding in the back of his head, so most of the photos you see are shot from the front. He made the decision to shave it all off--I think he looks great. And I went from full head to completely bald in 3 years--Wacken is old history--it's totally reasonable that someone could go bald during that time. None of us are getting any younger, you know?

Jay Jay has actually joked about his wigs onstage--esp at the Christmas shows a few years back. As for Eddie, I've seen him at all hours of the night and day--the man has a great head of hair. The issue is really a bit trivial.

Quite frankly, all of Twisted have aged really well, a credit to the fact that they are not a "party all night" band and avoid drugs and alcohol. Quite honestly, NOT touring for 15 years probably has something to do with it as well.

I have to agree, its a business being in a band, who cares, its their business. I will say one thing though, when my hair was long a couple of years ago, what a pain in the ass, hard to take care of , takes time and is even hard to wash, seemed to take forever to rinse it, and mine blew all over the place in a puff of wind etc etc.It took me two years to grow it. I gained a lot of respect for women because to me it was a lot of work and a real pain in the ass.I guess freedom to do what you want is nice, but I had to finally cut mine it was driving me crazy.

I wouldnt blame anyone in a band who wanted the look, but didnt want to deal with it all the time. -- well that was just me.

Hi,

I have watched this thread with disbelief, but at the same time found it incredibly amusing at the interest in the bands hair. The boys have done a fantastic job in putting on shows old school style like back in the day and have put the makeup and costumes on to fit the bill. I for one have enjoyed them both with and without the costumes and with and without the aforementioned wig as their music and passion to perform speaks for itself.

Now, lets talk about the moisturizing cream and hair products that the guys must be using to look so good : )

What sort of effect would you like to get from JJs wigs into his solos? It would be cool if he had a magical wig that would improve his solos, thats just my opinion.

No man, you are correct: I'm a huge JJ fan. But as for guitar playing, he has his own great style - but his ability is limited, and I do not say that in a bad way. People like Ace Frehley and Jimmy Page also had a rather small range, but it did not stop them from being legends.

As for TS goes, JJ is the class and Fingers is the speed.

That's actually kinda interesting JJG--I would have thought the opposite.

I saw Eddie as playing more of the soulful licks, which Jay Jay belting out the blistering ones. Just my opinion--I love them both--very different styles of playing, which is one of the things I really did about Twisted. There is nothing cookie cutter about them.

edited to add: I think they BOTH have class!

I must say im a little partial, back in the bar days as such, I saw some playing out of JJ that was just increadable. To me ( as in my opinion) when JJ really gets into it he can stand alone with anyone. what an amazing player he is !

ok a little off topic but to me sometimes we should just appriciate such awesomeness. Thanks for those magical nights!

Ahaa, evidence of AJs wig:

"This might be a stupid question from your point of view but you have just had a couple of warm-up gigs in the springand some of you guys have really short hair

AJ: I got a wig. I'm not going to beat around the bush. I'm not ashamed to say. I cut my hair real short and it would take me about three years to grow it back to the way it was. I feel, the way I approach it as is that I'm an entertainer, I'm up there to entertain and If I have to play a parteven though I am who I amif I have to play myself from back thenI'll do it. I dunno some people might make controversy about that."

Anyone would have to be an idiot not to know that all the rockers from the past that are playing today either have dyed hair, wigs, or cosmetic surgery! The bottom line is the music and the playing.Twisted is performing just as good as 30 years and only a few bands can still do that.If you want to bring up appearance, twisted still looks great on stage, especially dee who"s in GREAT shape and performing like he"s in his twentys!

hear, hear! I agree completely. (somebody mark the date!)

Just look at the new website photo--the guys look FANTASTIC! And they play as great as they look-- I saw a bazillion bands this summer at the mega festivals in Europe. I was shocked at the number of bands that sounded terrible....and a few that looked like train wrecks.

look at this -- a lot of people seem to want TS to keep making new records and material--- I agree - I know Jay tends to think peeps arent really interested , but when you have a band this awsome --- Yea me to Id love some new music from the band I love too.

Maybe I can get my music system stuff back from the guy who has all that stuff in some storage place in port st lucie for me . Here what they call air conditioned storage places very offten isnt what it should be.

Florida --- also be ware of shit heat spoiled beer in this state -- big problem here especially in the summer-- I think Id kill at this point for one of those really great NY Hienikens and some real NY Pizza !

Thank you for makin' the wig thread one the most popular on this board ever. It seems that this issue really inspires you to new hights of glory.

What about my other note on the first page, do you think that AJ looks like Muammar Gaddafi? And if so, is he trying to do so or is it by chance?
