Oh yeah, It was My First Twisted Holiday Extravaganza, but I hope it won't be my last.

What a blast! People kept telling me how much I was gonna enjoy it, and I'm going, WTF? Of course I'm gonna enjoy it, It's Twisted Fuckin Sister!

....I had no Idea what I was in for!

I arrived at the Best Buy theater at roughly 5:20, after loading up my belly at Empanada Mama's which I highly recommend(763 9th ave. open 24 hrs!!). It was a long cold wait till 7pm, when they let us in. The time went by fairly quickly as I met an old SMF Big Mike, and just a bunch of cool fans sharing stories of Twisted Shows Past, and wondering WTF is going on up the road because there seemed to be an endless stream of wailing and flashing cop cars flying by. I've lived in Jersey and worked in Mid-Town for 7 years and never seen that many rollers except to escort Obama when he's in town. Even the staff was cool and let people out of line to pollute the restaurants facilities across the street when bladders and bowels failed, and then let them back in as people in line jokingly shouted "CUTTER...CUTTER". Everyone was in great spirits despite the aching cold. Knowing what lay ahead kept everyone just warm enough.

At 7:00 they promptly opened the doors and started letting us in in groups of 20 or so. I was in the 2nd group, and dashed down the escalator, jump off and turning to the left I immediately take another left(I don't know why, but most people don't take that second left so they have another 150 yards or so to get to the floor of the theater) which takes me past the Merch table which I pause at long enough to notice only a few people at and realize I Must Have that shirt, and X-Large sells out fast but I wanna get a good spot, so I dash through the theater doors to the right and see that there's only about a dozen people on the floor. So I rush back and pick up my T-shirt and a Stay Hungry Bone Logo Bandana. I rush back to the floor and right up to the stage. I go high five Big Mike and a few other guys that I froze in line with for an hour and a half. I look around the familiar room, and feel a rush of excitement and fond memories. I saw Slash here a few months ago(With Duff McKagen, Gilby Clark, Matt Soren, Dave Kushner, Wayne Kremer, etc, etc lol) and Twisted Sister back in April. Yes, This was feeling very special already!

I look up and see a familiar jacket. One I've seen pics of on this very site. Classic Under The Blade TS logo and "Armadillo" across the top."That's the guy" I says to myself, and go up and introduce myself to everyones favorite road reporter, Terry... who in turn introduced me to SMF's Cindy and CaptainHowdy(Chris). Y'know...considering they're supposed to be such Bad Boys of Rock N Roll, The SMFs sure are a friendly bunch! Terry even gave me his calling card, a guitar pick with an Armadillo on it. Cool. It was great to meet everyone and share stories.

I wont bother describing the show, because I don't think I could add much more than Terry already put in his official Road Report. I will add that I got some free swag... A CD that the openers threw into the crowd(Jac & Jill were great by the way, really enjoyed their set) and a Condom and Candy Cane from Snider Claws' sack.

Oh, and I have a couple videos you guys might enjoy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0sDcqYH5i8

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQiCqgDd1UM

Also, on the way out....I couldn't resist....I picked up a Pink and Black Santa hat. And boy am I glad I did because I saw someone buy a poster that wasn't even displayed with the shirts and everything else. Not quite a poster...about 12 x 17 inches, but heavy cardstock and bright, vibrant colors. And only $10! I immediately thought of Terry, who brought a protective cardboard tube specifically for a poster, but I know he didn't see them before the show. I hope you found them after the show like I did. I rushed around looking for you to tell you, but didn't see you again.

I wore the santa hat home and got plenty of funny looks from people, but I just smiled and nodded. I even got a thumbs up from a guy stepping off the A train, who I noticed at the last moment was clutching a TS concert shirt in his hand.

All felt right in the world.

Have a Twisted Christmas my friends!

Thanks for sharing this! This is AWESOME--it's the entire show, raps included...all but the encores! If I had known this was being filmed and posted, I wouldn't have had to take so many notes! fantastic.

And yes!!! that was the poster I was looking for--the Sam Ash promos! I wanted to pick up an extra for myself! (they look really nice framed with pink and black mattes--made a great christmas gift for a friend this year!) But they sold out. Ah, c'est la vie!

Hope to see you again on the road!

You're welcome everyone. Glad you liked em. I didn't really plan on getting so much, but the boys in the band just kept going from one song to another without taking a break, so I kept shooting. Boy, were my arms aching, lol. Not bad for an iPhone, eh? My phone was dying near the end which is why I didn't get the encores and I didn't wan't it to completely die. Then I decided, ah what the hell and started shooting again.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_lqs8i-VZ4

Then my phone died

If anyone cares, I also shot this video of Jac & Jill. I thought they were pretty good.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIxglKiwZuw

I can't help but feel a little regret. If I hadn't taken the video and pics of Jac & Jill, I probably could have gotten the TS show in it's entirety. Oh well, Cest La Vie!

BTW, Pantsless Santa just asked me if he could repost the Gift Giving Bit from the video on his website. Pretty Cool! What am I gonna say, no?

I already got a warning from YouTube that EMI may own the rights to my videos etc blah blah blah. I just hope they don't take the videos down or something. They never said anything about the TS videos I shot & posted from April, so I'm not too worried.

Rock on my Bent Brothers & Twisted Sisters!

Had a great time of course. A few glitches here and there but I could care less. To me, it's all good and I feel elated to have seen them 3 times this year. The set was amazing, the road crew is awesome and they were having so much fun as elves. I had fun watching them giggling as they ran around with their antics. Santa Cooch was hysterical!!! He came a bit too close to The Animal with his "package" LMAO....OMG don't bend over Santa...T.M.I. LOL...funny stuff!

I finally had the honor of meeting Rabbi Darby Jared Leigh, one of my prayers were answered on Dec. 17th. The man inspired me so much at the benefit show in April with his spirit. For those who missed that show, here is a link. A true gift to everyone who crosses his path.

Nice new icon!

Are you posting any of the pics you took at the show? I'd love to see some!

My iPhone takes decent videos, but sucks at pics that need a high shutter speed. Just about all my pics have that motion blur. It's kinda cool on a couple of pics, but most are just bad.

Envision in your mind’s eye a stage that resembles a demented Santa’s workshop straight from Hell, a pants-less Santa Claus, several wicked snow blowing elves, and three sexy girls pulling Dee on a hot rodded sleigh. Sound like a Christmas fairy tale? Not quite, more like the Twisted (Fucking) Sister Christmas Spectacular at the Best Buy Theater in New York City!

The ingredients for this toxic holiday punch is part Christmas songs, part classic metal, and part stand up comedy thrown in for fiendish measure. Dee Snider and the boys have been putting on this show for the last few years, and it always packs the house.

The excitement from the crowd is contagious as each band member hits the stage by emerging from the toy maker’s wicked contraption. To get everyone in the holiday spirit, the band performs songs from their 2006 CD, Twisted Christmas, including such stand outs as “Silver Bells,” “Deck the Halls” and “Heavy Metal Christmas” (a spoof on the 12 Days of Christmas) with all members taking the mic for a part. As for the classic Twisted hits, they performed such greats as “Bad Boys of Rock n Roll,” “We’re Not Gonna Take it,” “The Price” and “Destroyer”.

Throughout the 90 minutes, Dee banged his head, fluffed his hair and ran the stage from one end to the other tirelessly, defying his age and putting frontmen half his age to shame. He’s in great shape; a mirror image of himself from the ’80s. He has been and still is one of the best frontmen in metal!

Clearly missing from the show and one my favourite things about the Twisted Sister since I was a teenager was the cursing. Dee told the crowd he cleaned things up a bit since there were youngsters in the audience, but he did manage to slip in a few sexual innuendos just for good measure!

Mid-way into the show a fat pants-less Santa emerges to grant the band their Christmas wish. Irreverent yes, and also funny as hell!

All songs were played flawlessly as you would come to expect, with guitarists Eddie “Fingers” Ojeda and Jay Jay French trading leads and showcasing some really unique guitars. Eddie pulled out a Wayne Charvel Pink & Black Bullseye as well as a custom made TS Giftwrapped guitar that lit up, while Jay Jay showcased his gift from pantless Santa: a “Shark” guitar to help remind him of his ex-wife’s divorce attorney!

If you haven’t seen the show or don’t live in the New York, area do yourself a favor and check out the band’s DVD, Twisted Xmas: Live In Las Vegas, exclusively featured on the band’s brand new eight-hour box set From The Bars To The Star. It’s the perfect stocking stuffer for any metalhead, naughty or nice!

Nothing says the holidays like a fluffy blonde wig and lots of makeup. Twisted Sister rocked New York City fans at the Best Buy Theater on Dec. 17 with a very memorable Christmas extravaganza.

Frontman Dee Snider was carried out on stage by a few lovely females dressed in scanty reindeer outfits. Snider donned a Santa outfit, which he auctioned off at the end of the night for a good cause.

The iconic band, who happens to be New York natives, performed an eclectic set which included classic Twisted Sister tunes such as ‘Destroyer,’ ‘You Can’t Stop Rock & Roll,’ ‘I Wanna Rock’ and ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ among many others.

They also played many Christmas songs off of their 2006 holiday album ‘A Twisted Christmas.’ Metal heads belted out ‘Deck the Halls,’ ’Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ and ‘Oh Come All Ye Faithful’ just to name a few. For more fun, a couple of elves unleashed soap suds and covered fans during a performance of ‘White Christmas.’

Snider looked and sounded impeccable, his energy and stage presence as vibrant as ever. The band’s chemistry and antics on stage were undeniable as they had fans singing and smiling all throughout the night.

Soulful rock/pop band Jac & Jill opened up the show with a decent set and they even performed a rendition of the Foo Fighters hit ‘Best of You.’

It’s becoming a well-known fact that Twisted Sister can be counted on to make the typically overplayed Christmas tunes bearable this time of year. They left New York City fans dreaming of a heavy metal Christmas.

oh nonsense Fountainfan! I couldn't disagree more!

Eddie looks fantastic...Jay Jay as well--do you realize he's almost...gasp...60! I wish I looked that good at 40! Mark and A.J both look just fine for hard working rockers in their 50's! I think sometimes we expect them to be forever in their 20's. We paint an image in our minds from the 80's and it's hard to realize that we are getting older too!

I would definitely argue that Twisted Sister's "clean living" have helped them age as well as they have. That's my two cents....
