| Here is a HIGH quality audience recording of the show. I just got done listening to it and it's awesome. The taper has done lots of shows by lots of bands, and he uses top of the line equipment. Go to the URL below for your free download of the complete performance.
If you're not already a member of dimeadozen, you'll have to register. Be aware though that the site is usually maxed out with almost 100,000 members (I have downloaded, and also seeded back, more than 500 GB of unofficial audio and video recordings since late 2004 from dimeadozen).
They delete inactive accounts on a daily basis though so, if you can't register, keep trying every few minutes or whatever, and a slot will eventually open up for you. If you're unfamiliar with downloading uncompressed FLAC files and converting them to WAV files for burning to CD-R, just read the FAQ on the site.
Please remember that the taper has uploaded this for fans to enjoy for free, and nobody should download it and attempt to sell copies of it for profit.

So,if you have your audio of this concert,can you please somehow convert it to MP3 and put it somewhere on net for us to download it?

ok, I'm understanding the basics, downloaded a client and went to sign up on dimeadozen, finally didn't get the too many users message but got this instead:
Your signup case was alreday used or timed out in the meantime!
Please get yourself a new signup form from the server.
Any idea why, or how to get past that? Thanks

I really want to learn all about this stuff now! If I ever get rolling with it theres a few things I have that I'd like to share.
(by the way, I'm back to the too many members again) How long will this stay up there? Untill no one is seeding it anymore right? Will the taper keep seeding it for awhile? or am I lible to miss it if I don't get it soon?
P.S. you got me wondering who "the taper" was since I was at the left side front row about 10ft in front of the stacks

Hey Mac, I've got a program (bit tornado) at least I think I do, i downloaded and installed but I think it's like a plug in type of thing where you dont see a gui, it's just there and does what its supposed to do when needed? Hope so anyway, cant find out until I can get on the DAD site. I just can't get signed up on the dimeadozen site.
oh well, all good things come to those who wait, right

As for me making MP3's out of this show, that is commonly not accepted. FLAC and WAV files are uncompressed, full sound quality. MP3's are compressed and lower the sound quality of the original recording, and most tapers do not want their recordings turned into MP3's. |

I would hope they don't mind either, I wouldn't mind if I was in a band. Most bands only get upset when they lose $$$ due to downloading of ~officially~ released product. I have bought all of TS's officially released albums (in the old days, and then in later years bought again on CD). The widely accepted theory on people who collect audience recordings of a band they like, is that only big fans who buy all the official albums, also collect live bootlegs. Since this audience recording of the Charlotte 5/26/06 show is not officially released, TS isn't losing any $$$ on it. The worst case scenario is that sometimes people sell audience recordings and then someone who is not associated with a band makes $$$, but again, a band then doesn't actually lose $$$ in that case, they just don't make $$$. These days on the internet, it is becoming more and more common that people upload unofficial recordings for free download, which rocks. \m/ \m/ |

Now I need to figure out how to convert this FLAC file so I can burn it to a CD. Anyone have any suggestions? |

Location: New Fuckin Yawk | I am no computer geek by any means, but somehow, someway I figured out how to convert the FLAC files to MP3 files using some software. I then was able to burn the MP3 files to a CD and the audio still sounds as good as new.
WOW....I can't believe I did it....LOL
Let's see...I already have a line waiting to purchase the CD from me....LMAO I'm just kidding. I wouldn't sell it, maybe trade it or give it to people for free. After all, all us SMF's are a family! |
