eBay Motors: Ford : Mustang (item 4638710883 end time May-15-06 19:08:58 PDT)

Dee Snider's 1969 Boss 302 Mustang - VIN #9F02G196961 Dee Snider has owned this car for over 25 years. It was originally discovered by Dee's brother Frank as a basket case in 1979, missing the original Boss motor. Dee spent the next five years, collecting original replacement parts for the cars eventual restoration. When he struck oil (read: His band Twisted Sister made the big time) in 1984 he finally had the resources to get his "baby" (Dee has the pistons of his Boss lovingly tattooed on his arm.) properly restored. While on a lengthy 13 month tour of the world, Dee reached out to restoration master Randy D'Alessio of Superstang in Rochester, NY and Boss motor, master builder Denny Aldridge of Aldridge Motorsports aka "Boss City" in Portland, Oregon. Randy's mission was to restore the car to its original beauty, bearing in mind that Dee intended to "cruise" this car, not trailer it around. As far as the motor went, Dee and Denny knew that the original Boss motors had certain "limitations." The plan was for Denny to build Dee an original, Boss engine from NOS parts, but make it "bullet proof"--as Denny likes to say--so that it really could be driven. And drive Dee did. Featured in a number of car magazines (including Super Ford), Dee's Boss was seen on his 80's MTV series "Heavy Metal Mania" and in Twisted Sister's "Hot Love" video. In 1989, Dee loaned his car to the Gast Museum in Lansing, PA where it was put on display, along side dozens of other quality antique, exotic and muscle cars, for 10 years while Dee went through a series of physical moves and career changes. In 1999, Dee finally settled down and reclaimed his prize. In 2000, Dee decided to upgrade the suspension and steering on the car to a more "performance" oriented set up. This work was done by the renowned Mustang experts "Mustangs Unlimited" in Connecticut. (Dee was sure to retain all the original suspension and steering pieces including the very rare and working "rim blow" steering wheel.) For the last seven years "The Boss" has been registered and on the road. It was most recently featured in VH1's reality special on Dee Snider and his family, "Meet the Family" and on MTV's legendary show "Cribs". After 27 years of ownership, Dee has decided its time to part with his "baby." Says Dee, "This car was built to be taken out, shown off and driven. Due to other interests in my private life(motorcycles), The Boss sits for months on end in the garage. These legendary vehicles should be shared with the world and I want someone to own it who will truly enjoy the magic of this bygone era!" If your looking for a piece of pony car history, with a story to tell, that you can actually get in and drive...then this is the car for you! Yep, wish I had the bux too! Dream come true for sure. When I was in high school, I had a '69 Mustang, Mach 1 Black, 4 sp. same T-shift as Dee's has. I loved that car. I went through 3 clutches and a couple sets of radials while I owned it..LMAO! I belonged to the "Mattituck Motorheads" local club with my brother. Those were the days. Never got a speeding ticket either. Had it wide open doing 95 along the north road highway many times with 6 of my friends packed in there..yay yay yay....It was a super fast car..whoa baby! 357 stock engine. I attached a photo I scanned, poor quality. Wish I still had it, classic indeed!

I had a '71 Mach 1 Fastback with whatever the next size up was from the original 302 (358 I think). Two of the old man's dobes chewed through the dashboard and the gas tank was dropping from the rot by the time I sold it, but damn, did I ever love that car. Racing through the tollbooths on Wantaugh Parkway... Driving naked down the Meadowbrook at 4 in the morning... Driving home from Cheers with one eye closed so there would be a single lane...

LMAO....NAKED??? hahahahaha OMG....unreal! Thank god you are still alive after all that! lol..mine had alot of rust too that is why I sold it. I did not have the money at the time to restore it and had just started college. It was not a reliable transport in the end. The fenders were really bad with rot. Your stories are great. But again, glad you are alive to tell that story! I miss mine too, loved that car. I felt like I was "QUEEN" of the road. And gas was like...ummmm...$.79 cents a gal? arggg....those were the days!

Hiya Joe Da Rock..

I think if the reserve is not met, the item will be relisted and it is not sold. Maybe they negotiate behind the scenes, not sure. I think that is a great price to get for that car. WOW.....

Looking at what's on eBay right now, there are some Q code 428's near that price or a little higher that I'd much rather get my hands on. Rare vehicles.

I've seen this car at the Bald Hill meets a while back, definitely a nice piece of machinery.

Used to own a '70 Coupe notchback with a 351W. Fun car.

Nice sounding car Sparky, what color was it? Do you have any photo's of it? I love the classic look, the newer models don't do anything for me. The engine in mine was 351 too but stock though. I think Windor {spelling?} was a better engine.

I see one around my home town that looks like this one>>>>

It's white too with a hood scoop like mine had..I wave frantically and lip "niceeeeeeeee carrrrrrrrrrrrr"....lol. He probably thinks I am sick. {in which I AM!}

This site is great to surf around on......

This one isn't mine, but it might as well be.  Except for the rims, it's a twin sister to the one I had.  Look closely, that's not white, it's "Diamond Blue".

SWEET car! Darn, it really doesn't look "Diamond Blue" either. {or is it MY eyes? lol} Great color too....
Maybe one day when I win the lotto I can have my car again....dream...dream..dream...
Plus it has been so long since I drove a stick, I would probably need a refresher course! I had the same "T" shift that Dee has on his too, I saw that in one of the pic's on e-bay! Loved it..
