BLABBERMOUTH.NET - HATEBREED Officially Sign To ROADRUNNER RECORDS

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=51779

Roadrunner Records has officially announced the signing of Connecticut's HATEBREED. The band, who celebrated their 10-year anniversary in 2005, land at Roadrunner following the announcement of their 2006 Ozzfest participation and the release of their exclusive track on "Headbanger's Ball: The Revenge".

Having worked with Roadrunner internationally for some time, HATEBREED are enthusiastically welcomed by Roadrunner's U.S. staff. "Not only have HATEBREED been one of the most influential bands of the past decade, there's no doubt that their best days and most crushing music is ahead of them. It's a privilege to be working with not only HATEBREED but also with Jamey Jasta, the very face of aggressive music itself," says Roadunner A&R man Mike Gitter. Vocalist and host of MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball" show, Jamey Jasta says of the signing, "I speak for the whole band when I say that we are more than excited to have our next album be released on Roadrunner Records worldwide. We are all big fans of the label. We're proud that Roadrunner Records is the new home for our music and message."

Due on August 29, HATEBREED's new album, "Supremacy", was recorded with longtime producer Zeuss (SHADOWS FALL, TERROR) and mixer Mike Fraser (METALLICA, THE CULT). Says Jasta of the effort, "We feel that our new material is beyond anything we've ever done as far as ferocity and pure adrenaline goes. It is our most brutal and focused album to date while remaining true to our hardcore roots. We've added more thrash, death and crossover elements and have been able to keep the songs memorable and precise. To me every song on this album is an anthem. Every song gives me chills and makes me feel completely charged."

Ozzfest have tapped the band for the main stage this year. In previous years, the band played and headlined the second stage. Bassist Chris Beattie says of the Ozzfest opportunity, "It’s an honor and privilege for us to be asked to fill a main-stage slot and we promise not to disappoint any of our diehards out there! So buy your tickets now and get prepared for the most intense riffing to date, see you this summer!"

The first single off Roadrunner's "MTV2 Headbanger's Ball: The Revenge" is "To The Threshold", an exclusive HATEBREED track created for the compilation. A video for the track was directed by Dale Restighini (TRIVIUM, FALLOUT BOY) and can be viewed at http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/video/

BLABBERMOUTH.NET - SLAVE TO THE SYSTEM Finish Recording 10 New Songs For Sophomore Album

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=51760

SLAVE TO THE SYSTEM, the band featuring Scott Rockenfield (drums, QUEENSRŸCHE), Kelly Gray (guitar, ex-QUEENSRŸCHE), Damon Johnson (guitar/vocals, BROTHER CANE), have issued the following statement:

"A huge word of thanks to everyone that attended the shows in the month of April (as well as February). The band had a great time getting to talk to many of you in person and are continuing to put more show dates together for the summer, schedules permitting. As has been rumored, the band has 10 new songs already recorded and mixed for the follow-up to the debut album, and the band hopes to have a sophomore release out within the next 8 to 12 months. More news and updates coming, and be looking for a 'Slave to the System Store' at STTS.com with good deals on t-shirts, pictures, CDs, and other paraphenalia. Finally, don't forget to continue to request STTS at rock radio. The band made a great impact with 'Stigmata' and want to build on that momentum as they continue forward."

SLAVE TO THE SYSTEM's debut album came in February, but the band haven't been able to announce a full tour because of their other commitments — singer-guitarist Damon Johnson is a member of ALICE COOPER's band, and drummer Scott Rockenfield has a busy year ahead of him with QUEENSRŸCHE.

QUEENSRŸCHE has announced shows from late August through mid-October in support of their new album "Operation: Mindcrime II", which comes out April 4.

COOPER's got a Canadian run mapped out from May 1 through May 17, with U.S. dates penciled in for June.

BLABBERMOUTH.NET - Guitarist DAN SPITZ Says ANTHRAX Touring Cycle Is 'Not Over'

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=51756

ANTHRAX guitarist Dan Spitz has posted the following message on his official web site:

"Well, all you peeps, I'm back from the European tour and happy to report complete freakin' chaos and a wooosie feeling of jet lag from my trip aboard the Milan to the U.S.A. flight of doom. Thank you to all the sick fans who came to the shows and especially the absolute killer metal scene in Finland! That country is most definitely bubbling from the icebergs to the soil with metal and leads the world in metal running through the veins. It has also become my third favorite country in Europe. I love the people, the feeling I get in my soul and most of all the kindness and generosity of my fans both old and young. It's like the 'I can cut the air with a knife' feeling of yesteryear before every show. It reminds me of watching Cliff Burton of METALLICA do his bass solo when we toured with them. I think the crowd was louder than the sound system! ....

"As good as it feels to be home, I have many things in the works behind the scenes already. Did you think the ANTHRAX touring cycle was over? Nope! More to come soon on this as it is hush hush for today.

"Also to report is the first tour with my prototype solid Korina / ebony fingerboard / three P-90 alnico magnet Paul Reed Smith guitar. The only one in existence. OMGoodness I have finally found nirvana in a tone machine! This thing is never leaving my side ever. I'm going to beat the crap out of it until I reach the forevermore with Hendrix. Winn and Joe Knaggs at PRS are simply geniuses in creating this monster with its internal hollow tone chambers and hand picked wood from there private stock room. We are officially underway in creating the first of many 'Spitz' signature model guitars to be sold worldwide in the coming months. Get your checkbooks ready for the waiting list! I've also been blessed to visit my favorite place on earth once again the 'Duomo' church in Milan, Italy. If you ever get the chance to see architecture that simply can not be put into any human words please get on a Jet and get you and your Mrs. to the center of Milan and go inside. It will be a life-changing experience, to say the least. I brought the boys from the band BEYOND FEAR (Ripper Owens' band) there to give them some culture and I think they can't speak now. Haaaa haaa...."
