Geek-in-Chief Posts: 606 Location: Noo Yawk | You can stop holding your breath for DCT's interview with Jay Jay - it's finally here. It's a great interview, although a little bittersweet - because it finally says what we've all known for a while - that the TS clock is ticking. Go read. Very enjoyable interview. Thanks, Donna. Can't wait for the next one - which, as far as anyone can tell, is the first Mark 'The Animal' Mendoza interview ever. - D

I understand Jay Jay's points, I wish they would play forever but we are all happy for the reunion and the shows they gave us in the recent years. I would love to hear TS/BB do a set of cover songs, I'd love to hear them do a set of TS songs Whatever they want to play is fine with me. Thank you to the band for all the great memories. I hope you enjoy all the time you spend on stage, I know the fans do.

The joy he brings to everyone with his music is legendary. The founding Father is an appropriate moniker for the Legend. Can you Imagine having a song played through a Slamboard! lmao Only happens if your bleeding Sister Pink. Otherwise it's all a publicity stunt, which ours boyz, have never and will never consider. Whats been done under the radar is countless acts of selflessness. For once "I'M SPEECHLESS"

Extreme SMF Posts: 156 Location: Toronto, Canada | Donna, that was awesome interview. Jay Jay, thanks for agreeing to do it and being so candid. Us fans truly appreciate the time you take to communicate with us, and the time you spending putting on the limited shows that you do. Before the reunion, I saw Twisted once in '84 opening for Iron Maiden here in Toronto. After things fell apart, I never imagined I would have the opportunity to see all all five guys together again on the same stage. Since then I've seen 4 shows and been priviledged enough to meet everyone on a few occasions. I would love to have a chance to see one more show, and that might happen this summer in Quebec (otherwise I have considered this past November in Poughkeepsie my last), but otherwise I can be happy and thankful that I had the opportunities that I have had. Thanks for everything. SMF Forever, Corey From Toronto

Front Row Location: CT, of course! | Wow!!!! Thanks so much for the awesome feedback, everyone. I really didn't do anything here, I was just a scribe....and consider myself very lucky for that! Jay Jay has some very interesting views and insights. It turned out to be a powerful and informative interview. I'm going to get cracking on the Animal's shortly. Just wait....there are some serious eyebrow raising revelations coming your way! D

Nearly A Band Member Posts: 309 Location: Under the.... | Having just read the interview, thank you very much. I understand what Jay Jay is saying completely. I want to thank the band for giving me the chance to finally see them live. Something in 1988 as a spotty 14 year old never thought would happen when I got into TS. The Astoria show of 2004 will go down as one of my top gigs ever and who'd of thought that by the end of June 2006 I would've seen TS live 7 times?? I look forward to June with anticipation, excitement & yet a touch of sadness at the fact it will probably be the last time I see them live as TS. Maybe BB can come to UK for the occasional show??? Thanks for the interview with Jay, Jay. I look forward to readin wha MAM has the say. PS any advice on how to meet then band in June would be most appreciated!!!

Location: Graveyard BLVD. | Quote Donna: "Anyway, here’s the story right from Jay Jay, word for word. He was honest, forthright, and many times very funny, very much a gentleman who tried as hard as he could to put me at ease full well knowing I was a nervous wreck. A warning to all readers, I am not a journalist, I only play one on the TS website! Do not expect editorializing, prolific writer’s revelations or pontification on the inner meanings of the interviewee’s words. It is what you see here…my questions, and Jay Jay’s answers." THIS IS THE BEST REAL, HUMAN INTERVIEW I HAVE READ IN A LONGGGGGGGG TIME! It couldn't have been more down to earth! Wonderful Donna! I give this a standing ovation BIG TIME! GO DONNA..GO DONNA...GO DONNA! I truly enjoyed it. Most of the time interviews are premeditated, phony and "robotic"...this was FUN and KEEPIN' IT REAL GIRLFRIEND! THANKSSSSS! I see you were able to bring out the best in our founding Twisted Father, Jay Jay for sure! Quote: " For a country that broke the band it was ridiculous that we hadn’t been back. I mean, it was ridiculous that we didn’t go back there back in the day after we broke out in England. They gave us certain energy, kind of like the energy we had in the tri-state area, the energy was so fresh and the kids were so in to it. They really connected to us in a very unique way. Iit’s hard to describe it but it happens over there. It happens in England and it happens in Europe in general, but in happens in England in particular. America is sterile in comparison, almost completely sterile in comparison to the animalistic nature of the fans in England and Europe." I enjoyed reading Jay Jay's heartfelt sentiment about England where they first "broke the band." WOW...just goes to show, you can always go back to your roots and still be loved! Hard core fans DO NOT FORGET THE BEST OF THE BEST! Quote: "What we do know is this, Dee has said that he doesn't want to do this any more. Clearly, absolutely clearly. He's done. Which means every show that he agrees to do, it's a fight to get him to do it. That’s a reality; that’s the truth. I would stop playing tomorrow if my artists’ responsibilities became too much to handle. This is a very tough thing to continue. Mark, Eddie and AJ would play forever, that's what they love to do." This has got to be extremely frustrating then for Jay Jay, Mark, Eddie and AJ. I did not know that Dee really wanted out that bad. I understand he has so many different projects as do the rest of the band, but I guess I didn't realize how dead set against these shows he was and the struggle for all the members to convince him to do them. Hmmm...learn something new every day. Quote: "JAY JAY: Oh, I pushed the hell out of it because of Marty. (For those of you not who do not frequent the TS web site Marty, a.k.a. MP1975, is an old school TS fan from the Staten Island and New Jersey area. One of the proudest and most dedicated, MP’s dream was to hear INGUN performed live just once more in his lifetime. He was such a pain in the ass over it so what happened was I pushed for that." LMAO! OMG...what can I say! We all were pain in the asses! MP lead, we the SMF peep's followed in suit! HAHA! WE'RE SMF'S till the end! lol...no stoppin' us! Well, this was a great read! Thanks for the opportunity to really hear it straight from the horses mouth! And I am looking forward to Mark's next! BTW, don't know if you were listening Friday night, but he mentioned you. T, Well, either I am a very good actress (I know that I am not, you can pretty much just look at me and know how my day is going) or Mr. French did a mighty fine job of pretending not to notice that I was about to pass out. My money's on the latter! Calm I was not! I did listen, I heard that, bless his heart! He knows I love my Queensryche and how totally psyched I am for OMC II!!!! Can't wait!!! (Sorry, OT mention in a TS thread...call out the board police!!!) How's the wee one? About the tour book, since I spend half my life in my car, maybe I should just drop it off in your mail box??? Hands down an awesome interview.
I’m sure that your modesty is appreciated by all, however, it is incredibly misplaced. You may claim that your are nothing more than a scribe but those who have met you understand that there is so much more involved than that.
I certainly admit that it is an incredible statement about the character of Twisted themselves that the band relishes one of their fans so much that they give you the access that they do. On the other hand I feel that only a certain personality would be so agreeable that such a situation come to fruition. In other words, it is only because you are such a sincere and dedicated person that an interview of this quality could be obtained. It is only because you have carried such a fire in your heart about this for so long that the members of TS genuinely consider you a friend and therefore you were able to achieve the honesty so apparent in your interview. I hold no illusions that any other person could not have accomplished this.
You may very well have been as nervous as you intimate, but if Jay Jay did not value your contribution to this band’s history so much the words you recorded would have never been spoken.
There is no one who could have done this better. It is phenomenal that the S.M.F’s have a great connection with those like Danny Stanton who is not only Twisted’s manager but also a fan and who strives to present all of the latest official information. However, I argue that only such honesty could be shared with and from someone who’s interest is so organizationally free of any other motive of the band’s path that it could singly be shared with you.
I thank you that your commitment is not only to the band, but to sharing the innermost working of the band with the other fans who share your interest.
I have no doubts that your next interview will be every bit as much, if not more so, groundbreaking.
Best always,
