Location: on a Twisted planet | I'm a drummer in a Heavy band here in Macedonia and we're doin' quite well till now........we have one album til now......and from my expirience i tell you that the Drum solo in a concert is very well received from the audience,but i've done only one solo till now........
And yeah,not to forget that very big and important moment in the drum solo is when is it going to be happened (in what part of the concert and between what songs)

If you're talking about just throwing one in durring a concert, there is nothing wrong with that at all  |

Location: Chicago | Being a musician, I certainly appreciate a good drum solo and the talent required to pull it off. As a fan, I'm not big on solos full stop. The next time you go to a large scale concert (10,000 or more), watch the crowd. When a drum solo or guitar solo starts, everyone sits down. That's been my experience over the years and I've seen hundreds of concerts over the last 25 years. About the only exceptions to this rule that immediately come to mind are Tommy Lee's solo in Motley Crue's prime and Eddie Van Halen's solos. Beyond that, I see lots of asses hitting seats. |

Location: UK | I like seeing a good drum solo as a musician and a fan, but not when they last like 6 or 7 minutes. 2 or 3 mins is definately long enough. |

Location: Graveyard BLVD. | I LOVE them! We are not talking about some ego-driven 40 minute or longer guitar riff solo {Yngwie Malmsteen comes to mind....OMG!} It has been my experience that the drummer is the least seen but MOST heard. That drummin' gets me in the right frame of mind! Bring it on!!!
